Which Handset... light, 5MP camera and with good battery?
Dear Moneysavers,
I am preparing to upgrade as I am at the end of my contract with T-Mobile, and am in the market for a straightforward mobile handset. I’ve no interest in all the bells and whistles that come with the likes of the Omnia or Iphone, for example, but instead am just looking for something that is pretty new but LIGHT (ie not heavy, certainly under 100g), with a good battery life and 5MP camera.
I am upgrading from a Sony K800i but don’t have any allegiance there or elsewhere.
Any ideas on handsets which might fit the bill? There are just too many to choose from so any hints or views would be appreciated.
Thanks,
mcmatt

I have heard that the Sony Ericsson C902 is a very good camera phone and quite slim. There are some cheapish tariffs out there too.
Hope this helps. May be worth haveing a look at the Sony Ericsson site.

Cheers Kimbey,
I have been thinking about the C902, but although it's 5MP I read that photos don't actually come out too well. Maybe that's cobblers...but it would be good if there were some more options!

I just came out of an 18 month contract with tmobile.
They wouldn't offer me a new phone, they said no new phones until after Christmas, but they would give me £5 per month off my spend, until the new handsets became available!!! Very perculiar......0 -
I got k850 and the battery is good0

The Sony Ericsson C902 would probobly fit all of your needs 100% and the bad pictures is an utter lie, the camera quality on that phone is very, very good.0 -
Sounds like we have a winner! I'll see if I can prise it out of the sticky hands of T-Mobile, or just go elsewhere.

I have had four K850i. All of them failed. When they work they are great. If Sony have fixed the touch screen problems they would be worth a punt but beware of reconditioned ones as they are never repaired properly.
I have a 902 now and it feels better built.0 -
should not go wrong with a nokia N95 , also nokia 6500 slide is only 3.2 meg but with carl zeiss lens pictures are very good, my last phone was a k800i but 6500 slide is good0

5MP phones that weight <100g are rare.
The Samsung Tocco weighs 101g. The Nokia 6220 Classic (which isn't on T-Mobile AFAIK) is very light at 90g. But neither has that great a battery life though.
As others have said, the Sony Ericsson C902 is 107g and is a pretty safe bet for what you're describing. Sadly the SE G900 never really made it to market for contract but that has 5MP and weighs 99g.
The Samsung Soul is heavier still at 112g but arguably has a longer battery life (according to specifications)."Who throws a shoe, honestly?"
