Most days I spend something around the 20p mark (leftover soup, which is usually very cheap in the first place) cut with water and with chopped spaghetti or rice added for bulk, and an apple.

But once a week on Tuesday when I do not work but do my textile classes all day I treat myself at Royal Teas cafe in Greenwich (wonderful place!) and then spend between £3 (soup and bread) and £5 (the above plus a slab of their fabulous homemade cake).

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • I generally spend between £1 and £3 a day, depending on whether I make my own.

  • I spend approximately £1.00,
  • There's much better things to spend my money on so I make my own at home and spend probably only about £2
  • Spend approx £3.40 each day

I work (and eat) at home, so either use leftovers or make a sandwich. I'd say it costs me less than a pound a day. My boyfriend is lucky to have me as I get up when he's getting ready for work and make him a sandwich too - this morning he got ham & salad, plus a dessert of chopped up pear and half a tin of custard, plus some carrots for snacks, peeled as I knew he wouldn't eat them otherwise because they'd got a bit black ... yes, I love food and hate waste all right!
  • I take packed lunch, so £1.50 max :D
  • I spend approximately £1 on lunch each day, which usually comprises of sandwiches that I make myself every day and the various fillings. Sometimes the fillings may include previous nights leftovers - if there are any.
