I usually take my own rather than buy in canteen I guess it costs £1 to £1.50. Have use of a microwave so very often have dinner leftovers for next day lunch.Use the vegatables that lurk at the bottom of the fridge to make soup saves a lot of waste.Also a toasdter at work so stale bread gets used.

We work from home, so our lunch is included in the general shopping. We make home made bread & yogurt & make soup from home grown vegetables. It's difficult to cost & if we are out for the day, we take food with us.

Make it at home and take it to work - but I'm also munching stuff throughout the day so it's tricky to estimate.

My son's school dinners are £1.90 twice a week and hubby makes packed lunches the rest of the week for them both - so not much, thankfully!

Around 75p - £1, making lunch everyday at home. Salad with a variety of cold meat, hard boiled egg etc, followed by a yogurt or piece of fruit. Yep - too healthy by far, but saves on buying a sandwich or eating in a pub, which I did yesterday and cost in excess of £10.

This week might be a little more than usual because I treated myself to some posh cheese at the local Farmers Market:

loaf - 84p
cheese - £2.52
marg - 10p?
chutney - homemade
baby spinach - £1.00
apples - 60p

so a fraction over £1 a day

Great site! About a £1 each - lot less if I time the cheap bread aisle right stock up and put in the freezer!

Since I'm a member of the Lunch Log Challenge on this site I can report down to the last penny how much I spend on lunch - it used to be £3.10 per day before I started the challenge. Now it's about 90p - I have a stash of tuna tins and packet soups in my desk drawer at work and I take in whoopsied bread to go with it.
