Exactly in the same position. Am still waiting for the money to be transfered to my savings account.
Under KE terms we only lose 1% if we break.

Hi, I also asked for my term bonds to be broken on the 7th, I was originally told that the money would be paid into my nominated account 3 days later. Today I was told that the money is still in the term bonds because prority has been (and still is) given to catching up with payment transfers into customer's nominated accounts, only when they have caught up with these will my bond be cashed in and the money sent to me.

I did ask if my money could just stay in the long term bond but they said it was too late, I may however ring back and challenge that statement, if they have the right to take their time I am thinking then I have the right to change my mind until they have actually cancelled those long term bonds.

Asked on the 7th too, and still not done. But I figure I was going to transfer the money out from there, and looking at the number of people with money in limbo I'm figuring at least I know where mine is for now, even if I can't get at it!

    .

Are they going to honour KE 1% rule?
  • This is getting silly - Why are they priortised?

We have just as much right to get our money as the others - You can break at 1% penalty so why should we wait?

I m very upset at this

By the look of things we should be able to cash in some time this week.

The backlog of chaps/bacs payments seems to be clearing and after this I guess we are next!

They said so, but it is slightly annoying that the 1% rule interest is less than I could get elsewhere and I have to wait for them to eventually return the money, which is looking like next week. Although I ma relieved that they acknowledge that my money is still there and trackable.

You will see on the other thread that people are now receiving their KE money sent out by CHAPS. You will get your money, but you may have to wait. Better to stay calm, since after all the panicking nobody has actually lost money in KE (UK).

Personally, I am just about to open a new FR a/c with KE/ING, given that interest rates are likely to plummet.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:
