That's not bad Sue, considering everyone has been at home and there are bound to be loads of things on all day over Christmas that aren't normally on. Still way less than your first week!

I'm just about to look into switching companies just to grab any Quidco that's going. Anyone know of any good deals?

Sorry everyone, I missed last week. So, this week I'm at 1718. My God!! Over 2 weeks that works out at about 137 units per week:eek: What's going on? Has someone plugged in Blackpool to my lecky supply? Gee Whizz what a shock

That was me on 15 December. Tonight it's sitting at 1984 so that's the equivalent to 133 units per week. This is completely not good.

Now, I've been off work for a week (with another to go:T ) and I can't get things dried other than the tumble drier. I'm so shocked at how much leckie I'm using though. Once all the festivities are over I'll get right into it I think.

  • Well my readings are now out of the window, preparing for a horrendous leccy bill.
Boiler packed up on Christmas Eve, engineer can't get the parts til early next week. So kettle is working overtime for hot water for some sort of hygiene and a portable halogen heater is on most nights along with gas fire.

If I didn't laugh I swear I would just dissolve in into a puddle on the floor (not the kitchen floor though as I'd probably freeze solid out there !)

Eldest teenage son was actually happy to go to work on Sunday so he could be warm for a few hours !

  • oh dear, been a bit similar for me, boiler hasnt worked well all year, but completely gave up on ny eve! I have been ill and off work (in the snowiest week ever) and still waiting for the letting agent/landlord to sort it out! Dont hold out much hope as it took them a month to fix the oven.

Anyway, I have taken the readings again today:
    Gas: 606
    Elect: 07883
its probably a months worth - when did I last post?!

Anyway, I hope you are all well - and warm!

  • Moneysavingmonkey. I feel for you, really I do. I hope you are wrapping up in duvets and have some other form of heating ? And get well soon.

I eventually got the boiler fixed after two weeks. Scared to look at the meters...

    Hello everyone,:hello:

I live in a 2 bed end terrace with a celler and downstairs bathroom with 3 exterior walls and a low insulated loft

I've looked at this challenge for a while but kept forgetting to take readings. I took my first reading last week and at the same time today. The only difference is I have been a bit more miserly with the heating (which is gas) because I was panicking about the bill that is due soon!

Can anyone tell me if these readings are ok eg high or low because I don't know much about readings and unit use and rates.

    ELEC 1st week 25174 2nd week 25215 used 41 units
    Gas 1st week 7693 2nd week 7702 used 9 units

  • bump - where is everyone? hope you are still counting the units!

  • I'm here, all went to pot over Xmas due to nightmare boiler situation, resulting in halogen heaters and similar.
However have just taken electric meter reading of 5942, bill is due in this week I work it out at £260, which is £100 less than last bill.

Will be restarting this challenge from the 4th Feb, meter reading due on the 3rd. If I could get this under £200 I'be be happier.
