just had a lady from clearstart advice me not to BR but I have enough surplus for an IVA as this is the best option I explained that other advisors have said that £25 suplus and BR the only option what does anyone else think
  • their address is the same one as Eversheds LLp and they are a debt collection agency...So I would be careful
Clearstart would appear to be part of Debt Free Direct who do charge for their services

If either of those two quotes are true that i found elswhere, i would not touch them with a bargpole

Debt Free Direct are well known for misseling IVA,s
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

What/who exactly is clearstart?. If its an IVA company then there is your answer. I tried to do an IVA first with DFD,then changed to another "IVA selling company". It took them 6 wks to realise you can no longer do joint IVA's,that OH did not have enough debt to do one,and that i did not have enough income to do one.So bc it was.Hated every min of it,dont mind telling you but now i am discharged and 10 months down the line it was the best thing i ever did. Not only did it release me from my debts it also released from a job i hated, changed my whole outlook on material possesions, made me a strong stress free person. None of us queenie can tell you what to do we only can only tell it how it was for us. We can only empower you with the knowledge to make a constructive choice.Dx

Tried to tell lady I was not interested as I had made my mind up to BR but someone asked me if going BR would affect my job, my boss did not say when getting his advice that my job would be affected, I won't be touching clearstart with a barge pole

Have a look at your contract and see if there is anything about bankruptcy in it.

But with the type of job you are doing and not handling clients monies I think that you should be fine. It is generally jobs regulated by the FSA that are affected the most.

We don't have such a thing as a contract or even a statement of employment, he decides on if a good day or bad day the terms even down to pay, if his in a good mood we might get paid on the 25th which is payday, if his not then we might get it on the 26 or 27 same as holiday one day we have 2 give 2 weeks notice for time off another day it may be 4 weeks notice, same as sick pay worked there for 6/7 yrs with sick pay one day he decided that he wasn't going to pay sick pay just to give a slight idea what they are like
