Over 6 weeks now and still no application form, perhaps I should have sent them a S.A.E.?

Visited my mother this morning and saw an envelope from BT sitting on the table.
The elusive BT Basic application form had finally arrived??? No - just her latest
bill (no delay with this.) Cost of calls = 72p. Total Bill = £44.82.

claretblue, I suggest you call again to re-request the form. They say "it takes up to 2 weeks" for the form to arrive but my experience was it took several attempts to finally get the form.

    BT Company Representative,

Please can you comment on my previous question:

"How does that explain why initially people were being transferred over from LUS to BT Basic automatically (and didn't meet the benefit requirements) ??"

    Thanks

Customers will be contacted automatically by BT to inform them that the LUS will no longer be available and to check if they meet the requirements for BT Baisc and to contact the BT Basic team. Customers will not be automatically transferred from one to the other. Customers who are not entitled to BT Basic will be given the option to change to the standard rental plans.

When BT Basic was first announced we were advised that those already on LUS WOULD be transferred automatically (and many people were!!)!!
  • Darren72, it is brick wall time again!

BT representatives: customers HAVE been moved over without any checks. There are several postings on this thread giving details of people who were automatically transferred from BT LUS to BT Basic. There are more if you use Google. But it seems that BT do not want to talk about it, apart from that quote by them that I posted where they say that some people who do not get benefits are transferred because they are on low incomes.

It could be that the party is over and there will be no more such transfers.

I forsee a lot of cancellations of landlines in favour of PAYG mobiles and mobile broadband.

If any customer have been transferred automatically this has been done in error. All LUS customers will be contacted regarding the change but they will have to meet the criteria for BT Basic before it will be provided.

LOL, my father has been transferred automatically from LUS to Basic. No letter, no phone call, nothing. Incidentally, he doesn't receive a qualifying benefit. BT = a company in complete disarray. Or are they? I'm sure some people more sceptical than I could speculate that it's the LUS users who have historically made a lot of calls who have been transferred automatically to BT Basic (taking into account Basic's costlier than mobile calling, lol). Of course, I wouldn't be that sceptical.
