  • I executed a Kaupthing CHAPS withdrawal on wed 8th oct and received the money late on monday 20th oct. Contrary to what it says in the notes on the website the £20 chaps fee was taken from my account not the transfered amount so i'm still waiting on this be refunded along with the 13 days interest. Have ING stated yet once everyone gets their money when the refunds will happen ?
  • Oh no so sorry Chris. It's the exact opposite scenario isn't it? I hadn't heard of anyone's being lost going INTO KE, in fact a few peopple posted saying the irony was that things were moving in this direction. I can only hope that it is again due to the backlog but I am no expert in this, Good luck

no I was only joking cat!

Helly I know you were, but it really didn't click. I feel like an imposter lol. Besides someone just said it looks like a dating agency and I'm a bit past all that.

My missing money is from a closure request (7th Oct, CHAPS), just wondered if all other missing money is from closures or withdrawals.

Mine wasn't a closure, but as my signature says my withdrawal left me in the red. This has now been refunded to my KE account, but no sign of my money in my link account.
No more offshore banking for me

Greetings all from Chris. First post on this Forum. After months of KE being a best buy in both Which? Money and on Money Saving Expert.com, I finally took the plunge and opened a KE savings account 3 weeks ago. Looking back, could not have chosen a worse time. :( I managed to get 15K into my KE account before the events of 8th Oct. All went through fine. However 2x BACS transfers of 10K each made from my LloydsTSB linked account on 7th & 8th Oct are STILL MISSING as of today 22nd October and are not showing on my KE balance. Have phoned KE cust services virtually every day since finding out about the KE problems on 9th Oct and kicking myself ever since that I did these transfers then. If only I'd known BEFORE rather than after.
I have asked Lloyds TSB to run a trace on these BACS payments and reclaim them back into my LLoydsTSB account if possible but I fear it may now be too late and my 20K is lost in cyberspace - most of my life savings over many years of hard slog. You can only imagine the sleepless nights I'm having with worry about this whole situation at the moment.
I've done hundreds of BACS transactions over the years and this is the first time I've ever had a problem and money has disappeared into thin air.
I'm not worried about the 15K already in KE as its covered by the various schemes but the 20K still in limbo is a huge worry.
When the dust finally settles I'll probably move the lot back into LLoydsTSB again.

Wonder if anyone else has tried to transfer money IN to KE at this time before they know about KE collapse?

Pleased to hear that so many of you have at last got your money out.

sorry should have put your quote in with my reply - thought I would be the next post

    Chris,

Well that's a first; everyone else was trying to get money out, and you're trying to put it in!!

Easy for me to say not to worry about it, but I'd be pretty sure that your money is still completely safe, and you'll just need to wait until things calm down a bit.

Maybe you should start a new thread on the forum for people having lost money on the way IN?

No, maybe not; you'll be the only one there....

Just hang on here. Everything will be fine.
  • OK night all. it's almost an hour past my bedtime (you think i'm joking!).
Note to self - must not stay up too late on forums!
  • I requested that my Kaupthing Edge funds be transferred to my current account on 13 October & I am so relieved to see that the payment finally went through this afternoon or evening. :j :j :j :j :j
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

Hi people, just spent well over an hour catching up with all threads since yesterday afternoon. glad 2 see there have been a few developments, ie people getting money Congratulations to all those. sorry to say i am not one of them. my 7th oct chaps for 35k still missing.

There seems to be some confusion with the list of non payments. better to leave it to one person to look after. Northernstar5 seemed to be on the case so let that person carry on
