elenor.
CCCS can do exactly the same as GP.
But CCCS will not charge you any fees to do it, and every penny you pay will go towards clearing your debts meaning that you will clear them quicker.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi CCCS,
We are considering a Debt Management Program with CCCS but are concerned about the possibility of CCJs against us. How likely is this whilst on the Debt Management Program and not defaulting?
Hi there,
When you are on a DMP you are making reduced payments to your creditors, whether your creditor agrees to the payment or not.
If they do not agree to the offer of payment that you make then they will probably issue a default notice. This may mean that they transfer your debt to a debt collection agent and then you will have the opportunity to negotiate your payment with them. If they do not agree to the offer of payment then you could get a CCJ. It is not a certainty that you will get a CCJ but there is a chance.
Usually, as long as you have a reasonable budget and your offer of payment is regular, the creditor will settle into accepting your offer.

i am in 42k of debt but i have just borrowed some money off of parents to clear bank overdraft that we have in joint names with my partner as i do not want to include her in my dmp when i start it,,i have 500 surplus left over so wil just be under 6years,i am also paying for a car which i need for work 218 which has 2 years left to run, then once this is paid i can pay more to creditors to clear debt off quicker, only our mortgage is in joint names, would i still be able to do a dmp on my own with this, thanks
and who should i start my dmp with cab or yourselfs cccs
on the cccs debt remedy i have not included my partner in it as we have our own bank accounts now and she needs her wages to pay her credit cards ,under 8000 so is it alright to do it this way to NOT include her income/debt .
and do i have to send proof of income wage slips, bank statements to yourselfs and would they be passed on to my creditors as i do not wantt them to find out where i work so they don't harrass me
thank you :T
Hi there,
As you have not included your partner’s income or debts on Debt Remedy, you would just include your portion of the household expenditure on your budget.
When you send in your proof of income we do not forward this to your creditors. This is just so we can assure your creditors that we have checked the amounts on your budget.
If you have questions you can use Debt Remedy to have an instant chat with an advisor or you can send them a message with your web reference.
I hope that this helps.

Hello again
I have a friend who is a lawyer. He has told me that NR will likely get a Carging order on my house easily as I failed to pay the CCJ 'forthwith' He also said he thinks they will apply for a Order of Sale as soon as they get the Charging Order. Is this true? We are waiting for a response from our request of redetermination. He advised me to contact my local MP as NR is now Goverment owned. Is this necessary?
Also, is the court date I am waiting for just a redetermination? Will they do th Charging Order then or will I have to go back? Really can't afford to take time off work! NR have not yet mentioned a Charging Order but it is clear this is what they are after.
Thanks0 -
hi, we (my wife and i) are begining a dmp with cccs. We have an appointment with Yorkshire bank to open a joint readycash account (i beleive only one of a few basic bank accounts with maestro type facilities/cards) as our current bank will be involved/affected by our dmp.
What questions are they likely to ask, and what answers should we give? Don't fancy sitting there saying we are in the **** financially and need to open a bank account with someone we don't owe money to.
a swift reply would be good, as we are there tomorrow afternoon.0 -
Hi there
CCCS confirmed they are setting up my DMP to start Dec 1. Do they request interest charges to be frozen when sending the payment proposal or should I request this of the companies that notify me they accept the repayment plan proposed by CCCS ?

Hello,
You don’t need to justify yourself too them, just advise them that you don’t want any lending facility because it’s just somewhere to put your wages into and your bills to come out of.

Hello,
When we send the proposals to your creditors we request they stop the interest and charges for you.
Good luck with your DMP and if you need any help with anything give me a shout.

Hi I wonder if you could offer some advice for me and my partner its his financial problem,he has a loan with Nationwide and only has 10 months left to pay for a £10,000 loan over 5 years, this past year the bank have somehow managed to mess up his payments and to rectify their mistakes we made a new agreement with them to take the original payment and £50 extra a month, taking the amount to £285 a month, they managed to take only the £50 and not the loan amount putting us further in arrears(prior to this there were no missed payments etc),after more phonecalls and complaints, they have admitted liability but it doesn't help our financial position, whilst they want him to carry on paying the £285,they are reducing his overdraft by £50 a month ,it was originally set at £700,so far its been reduced by £50,we exist partly on his overdraft,we just don't know what to do,we have tried to get a new loan and were turned down,we have asked to borrow money but to no avail,we rent our property and have 2 children,at the moment we just don't know what we are going to do to get out of this situation,we need to find a solution or he will have to move out and I would have to go onto benefit. Can you please offer us some advice as we don't want our family to break up.I am so angry with the bank for putting us in this position and only giving us £200 compensation for their mistake,we are at our wits end, also they have charged him for return of Direct debit payments, because they continue to take payments for the loan on a different day then what was set up,the money isn't there because of when my partner gets paid....they know this yet still take the payment and then charge us for it.
