    Hiya
Was wondering if i could ask a quick question ? ive already had my telephone appointment with CCCS ( which was fantastic ) ive recieved papework for the recomended DMP which has been delayed in sending back due to a family death, Im just in the process of photocopying stamenets etc when ive realised ive missed 1 of my oh debts off, ive tried ringing the number given but have been unsuceddful multiple timed due to your goodselves being busy so was wondering should i just send it with the others or not ??

    Hi there.

If you've forgotton to add a debt on, send the details with the rest of the information and we can add it into the plan from the start.

In the meantime if you can get through to us so we can note it on the system. I'm sorry you've struggled to get through we are very busy at the moment as I'm sure you're aware! Don't worry if you don't get through, as long as you send the information through about the debt we can ensure it's included onto your plan.

    Hope this helps,
    Matthew.

  • Hey there this has probably already been posted somewhere but im in a fix and dont know what to do. I pay £360 a month - i usually take £90 out of my weeks wages to cover this every month - though this month i have been off work 2 wks sick - now im only back - and while i have received sick pay - it has been very little as i dont get for the first 3 days and for the further 7 i got a small amount each day. I have had to use this to pay any bills etc i have still had to pay and have a court fine of £120 to pay before 27th of this month. I literally dont have any to spare this month at all and my payment is due out this friday. I dont have the £360 to give and simply dont know what i can do. Anyone any advice. With being sick i obviously couldnt put the £90 away for them weeks and now the Court fine has to be paid and thats taking away the little bit i couild have put towards it
  • Hello

I have come into some money from a will and I want to make offers to some of my creditors as a full and final settlement. I'm in a DMP with the CCCS, so have all the necessary letters etc. I would like to know, in your experience, what percentage of the debt to offer as payment, in order to be accepted. I believe it's about 80% - is that right?

    Thanks

Hi Louise82 and thank you for your message

You do not say what the £360 a month is for.Is it a non priority debt such as a loan/credit card repayment?
If so then you need to put together a budget showing your income and expenditure.
This will show what you realistically have left after paying all your priority bills.
(Your court fine would be classed as a priority and you need to come to an arrangement to repay this).
If there is nothing left over, then you need to offer any non priority bills such as credit cards/unsecured loans/store cards/catalogues etc., a goodwill gesture of just £1 per month.
Send this payment with a copy of your budget plus a list of any other creditors you have and do not be pressured into paying any more than you can afford.

I would then recommend that you call for an appointment to speak to one of our debt counsellors about your situation.

To book an appointment with one of our trained counsellors you would need to contact our helpline free on 0800 138 1111. Lines are open Monday to Friday 08:00-20:00. It would be helpful that when you call you have details ready regarding your income, expenditure and creditors, as this can help speed up the referral process. If you have this information ready it may be possible to refer you directly to a counsellor if one is available, otherwise we will arrange a time that is convenient for you to be called back for an appointment.

Alternatively you can visit our online debt advice facility called Debt Remedy. Debt Remedy would assist you in completing a financial statement and you would be provided with tailored advice on the best way to deal with your situation. Click here to go directly to Debt Remedy.

    Hi Louise

In that case,I would recommend that you contact Payplan as soon as possible, and let them know about your situation. It is important that you deal with any priority debts first and they will be able to advise you further regarding payments to your plan with them.

    Regards
    Sue

  • Hello. I recently phoned the CCCS for advice. The advice they gave was to enter into a DMP. However, I am reluctant to default on my credit agreements and get a bad credit record for 6 years. Is there ANY other way?

I am just about managing to pay the minimum amounts at the moment and will not take out any more credit, so they will start to go down eventually won't they... I really wanted a consolidation loan to make my life a bit easier, but everyone seems so against them. I do want to get my monthly payments down.
  • hi there. i have just recently approached CCCS and was found to not be able to make anything other than a token payment on a £50000 debt. i have regiged my childcare to save money and now have £360 pcm to offer. i have tried to contact CCCS today, 5 times with no success as i am panicking with all the letters and default notices that i am getting. I originally waited 3 weeks for my proper appt and dont want to lose sleep for another 3 weeks. i would like to know whether i can get the DMP sorted quickly. My solicitors are quite adamant that two of my credit agreements are unenforceable and are about to issue proceedings against two of my creditors. if this is successful how could this effect my DMP ?
