    The trick is to avoid cheap drill bits from DIY stores.

    I cooked loads of cheap drill bits whilst trying to drill through a 25mm steel bar. So I went down to my local engineering supplies store and bough a set of high quality metal drill bits. I started small then worked up to the larger sizes whilst lubricating it with oil. It went through the steel like a hot knife through butter.

    Once saw a fella Sharpen a 6mm drill-bit 3 times only for another to point out the drill was in reverse.
