Storage heaters

Somewhat difference to my experience, Torry! We found that even when input was on max and we resisted opening them up until late, on a cold day, they never lasted all evening.
Modern ones are much better - ours were hardly state of the art. But I know that people with modern storage heaters still have higher bills than we do. We spent a fortune on electricity (heating water too) and coal for cold evenings. We also needed a heater in the bathroom.0 -
Mmmmmm, certainly not going to rush into anything and am weighing up the pro's and cons.
We bought our last two houses without gas CH and based our offer on having to install it. Depends how desperate you are to move - if you can wait until around March, traditionally more houses have been available then. Even with the, um, economic situation, people will still sell houses and you may have the opportunity to get something at a good price.0
