Anyone read the comments at the bottom - particularly the one by 'Anette' - Harsh!

She does have a point (I don't think the jacket matches that dress, it hides all the beautiful detail), but she put it across rather nastily

Only just read the comments - there wasnt any on when i read it yesterday,

I do think thats she is being a bit harsh, how can she say its ill fitting and badly made from a half size black and white picture? Yes the jacket looks a bit 'odd' in the pic.. but when you look at all the dresses on this thread, the positives outweight the negs.

Were you quoted 75 days also? Looks like i'm totally !!!!!!ed then!! I shall go and look for another dress also. Damn why did I agree to get married so bleeding early!

No I wasnt quoted any timescale for mine so I just took it to mean the standard (off the top of my head i think it is 40 or 50days but not positive on that)

I wouldnt worry too much, have you emailed them and asked? Just let them know when the wedding is and see if they can do it any quicker for you

I was quoted 75 days from Milly and only 20 -25 days from Landy. I think I will go with Milly since I have plenty of time and I would rather they took more time over it.

They also said for $30 more they will make the test dress and take pictures and let me see so I can make any changes so I think I will def go for this cause I dont have a picture of the back of the dress. I thinik Milly also have a closer colour for me so i've pretty much made up my mind... still nervous though!!

It doesnt actually say anywhere that she also got the jacket from China, only the dress, she possibly bought the jacket here, who knows!

Just read it and I think its awful harsh, nobody has the right to criticize other peoples choices. Maybe her mother never told her "if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all!"

It's not just that though & I agree it's a nasty comment but I don't see how in reality she can judge from that wee picture. I didn't see the magazine, were there more pics in that? If not I'm sorry I think she is talking rubbish.

Exactly -there's no way she can tell if the dress itself is badly fitting - you can hardly see it! (and tbh, I bet it fit fine)

    I haven't read the paper though...maybe there were more pics, I dunno.

  • Completely harsh and absolutely no need for it, although she could be a bridal store owner or something who is going out of business because us sensible ladies choose to pay £200 as opposed to a grand for our dresses!

Val I am excited for you, you must get pics on as soon as they come! Tiger xxx

For me personally, it's the passion in the job. I know my fabrics and can only assume the prices they charge means they don't use the absolute best. But, why would they. What Landy are doing is providing a service to people who otherwise, may struggle to afford their dream gown. I've heard horror stories and am currently trying to sort out a Swedish lady who is distraught, however the majority of their clients are satisfied and that is the most important thing. If you have the luxury of spending a few thousand, you wouldn't go to an offshore and get it for peanuts. It's a snobbery matter and I believe this lady may just be one! It's all about the happiness of the client and many people (including me at one time) forget that when slating Landy/Milly. The passion is wanting a client to have her dream dress at a fraction of the cost. I cannot compete with offshore prices and I don't mind admitting that.
