NF..I had the same fears as you, but for slightly different reasons! My dress is made from silk, and is a column style dress, with small train. Its quite heavily embellished too, and couldn't find anything on the Landy site similar to the one I tried on (Jenny Packham). I sent them loads of pics, and ordered it in ivory silk - same as the JP one.I'll let you know what it's like as I got an email today to say it's going to be ready in approx 12 days!!! Am SOOOO excited!
Will let you know what its like......

    Hels :T
Thanks for that, the original styles I LOVED were the Jenny Packham but I just couldn't imagine landy being able to produce them for such a fraction of the original (scandalous) price, I emailed Landy to ask if she had ever made them before and could I see photos or speak to past brides. Ivan replied saying "NO, but if I send a picture they will let me know if they can do it". I was also told they only supply satin samples which also really put me off as I want to see the sample of the actual material my dress will be made of, how did you go about getting a chiffon sample? Would you mind me giving your name, order number etc as reference so I get what im asking for?

I would love to see your dress as Im desperate to see how they handle the shape and the beautiful embellishments, which JP did you go for I love Papillon and Clare. I am due to try them on next month once my local bridal supplier has more sample styles from this seasons JP collection in stock.

Im so excited, your email leaves me thinking that my dream dress IS possible. Thank You :T

Kind of connected. There was an article in The Sunday post about a bride who had ordered a dress for £1000 from a bridal shop. The dress company mistakenly sent the dress invoice to the bride not the shop. The invoice was £250, that is quite a mark up!!!. I would love to hear from someone who runs a bridal shop how much a dress costs them & how much they sell it on for.

I ordered the colour chart and I'm glad I did because the colour I would have choses for my bridesmaids dresses is so not what I wanted and I would have been gutted if I'd gone ahead and ordered! It did take a while to arrive though.

The white is, well, white! Not too much between the light ivory and ivory but when you see them together theres a definate distinction. Dark ivory is quite buttermilky looking IMO and champagne darker than that. Sorry I 'm not very good at describing!

I ordered swatches from Milly at $0.99 each in Ivory and Champagne and they are axact matches to Landy's Ivory and Champagne. So you could go down that route to get an idea of the colours without spending a fortune on the postage from Landy (Milly post theses out for free).

I hope that's been of some help to someone and I'm sorry if it hasn't been very clear!
