I ordered mine in January and received it at the beginning of March.

Do bear in mind when ordering that China shuts down completely for 2 weeks in January for their New Year so it will add 2 weeks to delivery time if its in the middle of your dress being made.

Maybe order in December to be on the safe side?

    HTH

ooh thank you forgot about their new year, so probably order the end of december.

ooh went bridal shopping today and have found a great bridesmainds dress, and wedding dress I am goignto ask landy to make, hopefully they can, have sent off the pic and deatils for the bridesmaids dress first, hopefully they can make that, and i can see how it turns out.

Do you think i should send the pic for the dress I want now even though i am not going to send my measurements until late december, want to leave i t as long as possible so i get the best fit possible.

So excited, i am just so glad i went dress shopping as the style i originally wanted did not suit me, especially with me beign so small in height, the smaller straingte skirt gowns with a bodice suited me so much better and i had never even looked at them before.
  • I'm thinking about ordering my bridesmaid dresses from Landy but am very nervous about them not being right! I think I am going to order one and see if I like it, but I'm cutting it fine because my wedding is in February.

How has everyone found the measuring process? Have you measured yourself or gone to a tailor as recommended? And when your dresses arrived did they fit ok or did you have to have alterations?

Would be really interested to hear everyone's experiences on the sizing side of things!
  • Oh and also, when you took measurements, do you do them so they are exact or do you need to leave a little bit of give (e.g. when you measure a men's neck size you put a couple of fingers under the tape so they can breathe - do you need to do something similar?!)

Oh no Aimee - how come? Hopefully it is due to money and not anything else!

Thanks Snugglepants - what sort of dress are they making for you? It's very exciting waiting for your dress and even more exciting opening it! Just remember they pack them inside out - they look a bit odd like that but it protects the fabric. I thought they'd made mine out of cotton sheeting to start with! :rotfl:

:rotfl:I'll have to remember that!!!! I've ordered mine - think was a week ago tomorrow (my memory is bad!) It's very simple, floaty, not too much material - I'll post a pic as soon as I get it :D I sent her a pic of the dress which i took through the shop's window!! :rotfl:

    Hi,

I did mine exactly (well, MIL2B did!) or exact to half inches. I've only recently ordered mine so I can't be of much help, sorry! One thing I'll say though is that I ordered mine with a lace up back, 1) because I preferred that to buttons and 2) the added bonus of being able to adjust the size of the upper body in/out if I did measure slightly off!! (plus weight gain/loss!)
  • Kate your dress looks gorgeous! Bet your pleased!

I ordered my Landy dress on the 21st October, received it yesterday, am thrilled with it! Couldn't wait to try it on as it looked perfect but was scared it wouldn't fit, was a perfect fit though :j

I used exact measurements btw, but had lace up back :)
