I GOT MY DRESS!!!



Actually it arrived yesterday, but the driver left a note. I wasn't expecting it, If I'd known it was my dressI would have been at the delivery company's door yesterday lol.:rotfl:

I know a lot of people are unsure whether to buy or not so I am going to give an honest account of the good and bad points.

Overall first impressions though - I love it!!

Good points: Seams are all straight, the beading is beautiful and the material is lovely. I got a little jacket made to match and it is stunning - looks ten times better than on the site pic. Oh...I also didn't have to pay customs on it.:D

Not so good points: It is on the long side, so I will need to have it taken up. Not keen on having such a long train either so I'm having it shortened. Also, there's not enough boning on the bodice, so it doesn't hold my boobs in lol. So it looks like I will need to wear a corset underneath.

All in all - for £150 for a dress, jacket and matching bag...I am over the moon!!:j Even after getting a few alterations (my mum's friend does them) I will still have saved a fortune.:j

I wish i could carry off this kind of dress, when i tried a similar one on it didn't suit me at all, think im a little too short lol

I'm 5'10 and it does make me look a bit shorter than I am. Mind you I felt tiny myself when I was tripping over the front lol :rotfl:

Oh Louise so pleased for you, thanks a million for the feedback, handy to know the boning isn't too strong, I've seen this shop on ebay recommended on YOYW, can't say myself but might be worth looking into. I'm leaving off ordering mine till May.

Thanks for that link - I will look into that - great prices on there!!:T

I felt fantastic in it, really floaty - my mum was right over to check it out and she was amazed at it, and kept saying she couldn't believe the price.

No one else knows how much it cost yet - I'm thinking of taking bets and telling people after the wedding :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It does look close to the pic, especially the bodice, but not exact - I guess it will look more exact when it is taken up. at the front. I got the jacket form them as well. I had second thoughts afterwards and wished I had gone for one with longer leeves, but it really does look better than in that pic - and it sparkles with sequins as well.:D
You are quite right to get a princess dress if that's what you want :T I think the A-Line should be quite flattering for most people anyway.

I got the dress straight from their store - it was more expensive to go through ebay, so I ordered direct then emailed all my details and requirements.

Sounds amazing, like the idea of bets on the cost. I'm so infamous for my bargains that people would prob think I got it for a fiver!! Is it a lace up back do you think you could wear a lace up corset with it too?

Haha - don't worry about it - honestly!!

I have a lace up back on the dress, but you can't see anything under it. I found a great corset on that ebay shop you linked to, so I'm going to buy it and see how it looks. If the ties conflict then I won't wear it, but I can wear it under party outfits so it won't be a waste of money. I can always get a strapless bra if needs be.

My sister knows I saved a fortune and she has guessed £300, without seeing it :rotfl:
