No, I want to keep it simple as our wedding will be a small and private affair and I fancied something I could make use of after! Being quite short I find wider skirts don't suit me really. I'll take it on board though! Thanks.0

No probs at all.
Have a look here http://www.weddingplanner.co.uk in my samples pack I have a duchess satin in a dark turquoise £6.88m. Now, there is also a uk company that do a silk dupion (8.45m) in Ocean shimmer, Peacock blue and a jade. They send out samples at £1 each. The first company send them free. Have a look at the links to source a dressmaker. You can get the shades here in UK if no joy from Landy. 5m of fabric (say the silk) will cost you £42. Add a bit of lining and whatever the dressmaker charges.
Some ideas for you. Sorry if I was being forward.0 -
No need to apologise, I'm grateful for all advice offered and you've given me food for thought! I'll take look at that site, would certainly consider that option to keep things in the UK so will order some samples. Thanks again!0

i'll try and put pics on asap.
i was really worried especially when pennies said when she ordered and received her dress. i ordered on 25th may almost 2 weeks before her and it was delivered on the 9th july. i was a bit naughty and told them my wedding was a month earlier to make sure it got here in plenty of time. i think they must have forgotten that as i emailed them loads at the weekend panicing and they sent it on monday by dhl express when i only paid for normal shipping. it arrived on my supposed wedding day! which would have been a disaster if it was my real date. but we were at the gym (only out for one and half hours and guess when they tried to deliver it - sods law). we went to their depot in edinburgh today to collect it. i was worried they must have rushed it and it might not be good but it is stunning.
so i'd say order as soon as possible and then make sure you hassle them by email to make sure it comes in time.
i ordered the alfred angelo jacket http://landybridal.com/Product/Pro2578.html

I'm getting quite worried about my dress as they seem to be pushing the dates back and back. Any one know what stage 6 is? I'm hoping and praying that is postage!!
I just couldn't settle at all knowing that they now have my dress arriving 1 week before the wedding which doesn't give much time at all for alterations which I think it might need.
So I went ahead and ordered a second dress which is now in stage 2 of production to be posted out end of the month. But even that has now been delayed by 10 days. So god knows which dress is going to come first or even if i'm going to have one at this rate!!
