The thread on Lidl: http://forum.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=fiddly;action=display;num=1100536812 was really helpful - can we have the same comments on Aldi produce, please?

check out there website as it can you ideas of items they sell and also sign up for the newsletter lets you know of the stuff that will be on sale the following week.. i prefer aldis to lidls as they seem to have more choice but mabey thats because our aldi store is bigger than lidls.

  • Had loads of really great electrical stuff off Aldi, drills cook ware etc. This week for £14.99 they had this great wireless keyboard and mouse - using it now. Three years guaranteed and a helpline. Food good too. Highly recommended.
Only draw back is having to get they're at early doors Thursday for the bargains.
This week there is a recordable DVD for £119.99 with again 3 years free guarantee.
    I'll be there!!!
  • My Aldi is 5 minutes walk away so it's really handy for:

tin toms - better than value stuff - 19p
    vinegar 19p
cakes/biscuits - cheap and equally good as branded
    cereals
    tortilla wraps
    frut/veg
    natural yoghurt 45p or something
    sunflower oil (1litre) 45p

Just picked up some kids slipper socks x2 for £1.99 - there's always something every week.

It used to be horrible but now it's clean and nice - I still dont go into Lidl, my one's too dismal and not so clean.
I usually go Tesco for certain things and then buy repeat stuff like the above from Aldi.

A tenner goes a longggggggggggggggg way compared to in Tescos!!!

    xxx ;D
  • Just to add downside is NO FLIPPIN' BASKETS (bad for mums with buggies >:()

No carrier bags (I bring my own Tesco ones ;))

Staff too fast at the checkouts so I end up throwing everything back in the trolley - there's no space to bag up!

Found something living in a pepper, part of a three pack, was suppose to go back but never go round to it. Only happened once though. Still..........

  • if you forget to take your own carrier bags you generally find empty boxes either around the store or near the checkout , I just grab one and pack my shopping in that. ;D

Don't forget they don't take credit cards :(

    Debit cards are fine though.

Oh, don't forget your £1 for your trolley and a pile of old carrier bags.

Card boxes inside the doorway at my local are used by many as baskets, and of course to carry out to the boot too.

AS A NEW ALDI USER - COULD I ASK FOR SOME MORE PRODUCT/QUALITY REVIEW TOO!
Life should be a little nuts; otherwise it's just a bunch of Thursdays strung together.
