Are Anglo Irish not fully FSCS protected? Excuse my ignorance.
With 7% for two years and the likely slide in rates, with no prospect of a return to today's rates in a hurry, it seems like a good deal.0 -
C+G (owned by LTSB) have several good ones, http://www.cheltglos.co.uk/savings/fixed-rate-bonds/index.html
Between 5.75% and 6.25% depending on the balance, although the seem to want to know everything including your inside leg measurement on the application form (not literally obviously!).0 -
Anglo Irish are FSA regulated for UK buisness and are also 100% protected by the Irish governments scheme."When the Government borrows, the citizen has to save".

This is good. I went into Halifax today to check out what's on offer and the one above should have closed already but they've extended it the staff told me. THEY WANT YOUR MONEY....0 -
Hey Amistupid
I know you're not. All of the bank staff etc I've spoken to this week either in person or on the phone tell me that yes the rates are going to drop but the most obvious thing is the change in high rate/duration ratio. Shorter fixed term get higher rates at present and this, I'm told, is likely to be the trend. A complete turnaround but you can understand y.0
