Hi, The answer to this is yes. A phone that can be unlocked with a variety of equipment. Try your local independant phone shop, the internet, or as a last resort a market trader !

Sorry... I will agree with what you say...... but in my area I spend alot of time sorting out messes by market traders unlocking phones. They ( the local ones ) use software of dubious quality to unlock phones and frequently hardlock or damage the firmware in certain vunerable types of phone.

Most market traders are just that...market traders..they have no professional qualifications in micro electronics or programming skills. They buy small pieces of stand-alone unlocking equipment. The equpiment that they use is normally battery powered and they do not have the stable power supplies that are needed to carry out service work. Yet they will gladly open the back of your phone and attempt to change a screen, full housing etc without earthing themselves to prevent static damage to the phone. As a repair centre that picks up the pieces I have built my opinion on the experiences that we have witnessed at this centre. LG's Samsung D500's and old T610 are the most destroyed phones through these processes currently - luckily most can be resurrected.

Having said that most phones will happily unlock in this way....... some will not ! i have nothing but praise for the market traders or otherwise who give advice on this board i have yet to fault their advice.........but as with any profession there is good and bad..my point is based on experience of my local area and in their integrity in sorting out problems for their customers when they arise, not in any way a condemnation of all market traders and in particular to any who offer their advice free on this board
