I got the mixed case. What I've tried so far ranges from good to drinkable, a bit better than I'd expect from cheap supermarket bottles... With £11 quidco, it's a great deal (you get a good free corkscrew, too - I much prefer the lever type to 'normal' ones).0

All sounding good!
I'll reserve judgment till it arrives, but I am certainly looking forward to enjoying a few glasses of wine on an evening without having to dash to the shops in the rain!#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

Same here, I often go for the mixed "mystery" cases and have NEVER been disappointed.I've got to agree - Laithwaites quality seems to be far better than Tesco's. I'd say Tesco's are far more likely to dump a load of mediocre wine in a 'sale' than Laithwaites - but you have to look at what's available at the time you're buying!0 -
The corkscrew lasts for about 50 bottles then breaks. I had one.
Don't forget ASDA has loads of wine on offer from £2 a bottle. I got Aussie shiraz at 14.5% for £2 a bottle. Rivercrest Californian cabernet £2.24. There were loads of others as well as 3 for £10 deals. Then you get 5% off for 6 or more.
Worth thinking about as well if you did not want a 15 case
I did get a case from laithwaites once. (hence the corkscrew). Cancel the membership the day you get the case, or you will forget and end up with a £70 case on the doorstep a few weeks laterNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
I just saw this on Pigsback and came on here to search for it too.
I got my credit card statement through from Halifax and they had enclosed a £50 off voucher for Laithwaites saying I can get the 15 bottle case for £39.99 with the voucher, rather than the full price of £89.99
And there is me (stupidly) thinking that Halifax are being generous when its on offer anyway :eek:0 -
"Cancel the membership the day you get the case, or you will forget and end up with a £70 case on the doorstep a few weeks later"
I have a club membership (through BA) and I only order when I want to, no obligation at all, and each 12 bottles gives me 250 BA air miles. I get brilliant deals every month or so and never had a dodgy bottle yet.
I'm not a wine buff at all so rely on suggetsions, although I do have my favourites from them now.0 -
@moneypooh, this is a wine plan rather than a club membership; by joining you agree they will send you wine every quarter. You can, of course, opt out at any time, but they're relying on people lethargy to forget#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET
