Out of interest, am I the only person who is not overwhelmingly impressed by HDTV? I saw a TV with it in Dixons a couple of days ago and couldn't help thinking "so what?". It seems like a lot of money for very little benefit to me.

Is your local Dixons like mine? They have about 200 tvs connected to one dodgy ariel amd they all look dreadful, fortunately there are other places to buy consumer electronics:xmassmile

I am not going to take the plunge until the tv we have needs replacing or they switch off analogue signals and we need to go digital. Must admit the one's I have seen look good and the picture quality, on the HD samples, is amazing, unfortunately there isn't anything worth watching on normal tv (IMO).

  • Does anyone know what makes a TV HD ready? I purchased a 26" widescreen LCD from Staples a while ago (it looks like the cheap Bush model in Argos, however mine has a diffrent manufacturer sticker on it). It has a native resolution of 1280x768 and has a DVI input which i plug the PC into every now and again. Does this qualify?
