Hey guys,
I am looking for a little sofa to put in my room at halls, as I have masses of space.
Ideally its gotta be flatpack or can fit into a lift.

Is the sort of thing I am looking at?
Anyone any ideas for something cheaper?

try your local freecycle- there are always sofas and futons advertised on mine (futons can go flatpack can't they?)
even if it doesnt look fantastic a cheap throw and some nice cushions can work wonders2011- new year, new start.
January 2011 g/c- £150

Won't be cheaper but wouldn't a futon be better value in the long run - then you can have friends stay over:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Make sure you're allowed one before you spend the money. My OH tried to take a sofa into halls and was told he couldn't because of fire regs, and because of access issues.0

My eldest daughter is in her 3rd year at Edinburgh. During her first year she and her flat mates were looking for a sofa for their shared communal area (Uni diggs). On our way back to the railway station one night after having spent the day with her, i saw a sofa on the pavement that was waiting to be collected by the local authority the following day. Quick phone call to the flat and eh presto. The 3 girls came down and humped that old sofa back to their flat. A throw over and that was them sorted out for the year. So look in/around your place on heavy goods collection day. it should not take too long before you find your own.0

try local charity shops, oxfam have ones specially for furniture http://www.oxfam.org.uk/shops/content/furniture.html, or visit some boot sales. other than that, freecycle has to be at least worth a look.:happyhear0

Salvation Army and YMCA Charity Shops tend to be good for furniture.#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

You must check with Uni first if you are allowed furniture. It should state in your hanbook.
I know when my son was staying in halls, he wasn't even allowed an extra chair in his room! It's all to do with their fire and safety regulations. It would be a pity to spend money on something you couldn't use.0
