O2 CPW - Their mistake so where do I stand...?

Hello all

I upgraded with O2 through Carphone Warehouse a couple of months ago... It transpires that the guy that did the upgrade screwed it all up and did it through someone else's account. As a result, when I phone up with a routine enquiry today they told me that they needed to do the upgrade again.

However, the exact offer they gave me 2 months ago was no longer on their system so they had to upgrade me today to a similar offer which I'm quite happy with.

The issue I have is that the contract begins again, so I am still tied in for 18 months, even though I accepted a contract offer from them 2 months ago (and have the acceptance letter from them to show this).

It also means that I'll have to send my bills in for cashback at a different time to those of my wife who I upgraded at the same time to keep things simple for me.

Now, the guy on the phone totally understood my annoyance at this and they are crediting me with two months free line rental as compensation, so whilst I am tied in for two months more than I wanted, at least I'm not paying for it.

So my questions are, as this is totally their fault, do I have a stronger position for some sort of compensation than the 2 months free line rental that I agreed with them. And secondly, if this is the case, have I blown my chances of taking any further action by accepting their offer today?

Thanks in advance!

MJ

Give up and accept it. They are a rubbish company to deal with. You have trusted a bunch of incompetent liars and at least had the two months free. Learn from this (it's very common) and think once, twice, three times before trusting them again.

Thanks for replying, but in their defence I've dealt with them loads before and never had an issue.

I could have said that 18 months ago. Things have changed. Read the relevant threads - there are plenty of them.

CPW are a rubbish company. Really gone down the pan IMO. Had nothing but problems with them. Nowadays better off going directly with provider. Except avoid 3 and T-mobile like the plague.

o2 has the best cust services. Vodafone isn't that bad. Coverage wise I find o2 is brilliant and the others are just a pale imitation.
