I am in the south east. I havent been made aware of increases to the tarrif, but then when I switched over I didn't hear anything either, I understand that click 6 duel is the cheapest tarrif going (give or take).0

I've just found this thread and have had similar issues with BG.
- Signed up for Click Energy 5 in mid-September.
- Got letter dated 29th September with "This letter is a summary of your contract with us..." and quoting the old Click Energy 5 rates as expected.
- Got first bill in post dated 3rd January (I thought this was internet-only??) with the new Click Energy 5 rates.
Contact Customer Services who insisted I would have to file a complaint.
Two weeks later, get call from customer services rep. I point out I have had no notification of price changes either by post or online.
She tells me that since I started received Gas/Electricity on 7th November, that was the start of the contract and since the prices went up before that, they don't have to tell me. She further tells me that she will convert me to Click Energy 6 rates and backdate to when gas/electric was supplied.
I disagree and point to clause 1.2(d) in their T&C which says the contract starts (for website applications) when I clicked to agree to the T&C. Further that clause 7.2 (as mentioned in this thread) gives them 65 working days to inform me of price changes and then I can move elsewhere and keep the original agreed rates. Since they haven't done that then technically it is they who are in breach of their own T&C.
She insists that the contract start date is the same as the supply date and if I don't agree to being converted to CE6, she will 'void' the contract and move me back to my old supplier and they entitled to do that by law.
So my questions are
1) Is the Contract start date definitely independent of the supply date?
2) I can't find anything on the T&C that says they can void a contract and nothing that lets them move me back to my old supplier - is there some general law I have missed.
I am planning to contact her tomorrow with the following compromise
1) I will ignore their breach of T&C for the 65 day notification.
2) I will pay the old CE5 rates up to the first bill (3rd Jan) so I at least get some energy at the rates originally agreed.
3) I will accept transfer to CE6 backdated to 3rd Jan.
4) They get to keep me as a customer
If they are not in agreement (and assuming I am correct about the Contract start date being different from the supply date) then I will insist that they write to me officially notifying me of the price changes and on receipt will then move to another supplier within the 10 day limit thus getting *all* of my BG energy at the old CE5 prices and BG can take a running jump.
Does this sound reasonable?0
