Pixmania con

I recently purchased 3 Netgear DG834G routers from Pixmania.co.uk.
I was supplied with FRENCH routers, not UK routers as listed.

I called and was told the company is French and therefore I was sent French routers.

I told them the listing did not mention they were French, and taht the listing was in English, the payment was English, the website was a .CO.UK and the contact was UK numbers.

I was told that if I had read the terms and conditions I would have realised that French goods would be shipped....

I told him I wanted them collecting, he told me I would have to ship them back to.....FRANCE although he confirmed they were shipped from a UK warehouse. Seems like they are using the public as a means of shipping there French goods back to France as I was told refund of return postage was not refundable.

I have been in contact with Trading Standards, they say they are in breech of the Sale Of Goods Act and are investigating......

I bought a DG834 router whilst living in France and brought it back with me to to the UK, it works fine (and the setup is all multi-lingual). Did they supply plug adaptors with each one? The power supply is the only difference between a UK one and French one.

Nonetheless, Pixmania aren't a favourite with many, though I have had no problem with them. I think they should be clearer to people with what they ship i.e French market products.

Took me 2 months to get over £800 refunded for a TV, the cowboys tried to deliver it 25 days late for a 48 hour delivery.
  • Can't believe these scum are still in business, I got similarly burnt by them years ago; shipped French market goods, two days late, that didn't work properly, and an atrocious returns policy.

    Avoid at all costs.

They are part of DSG, so what do you expect?

What's wrong with the routers exactly? Most things these days are universal and come with a selection of parts for the mains adapters ec.

They were purchased for resale in the UK and therefore cannot be resold.
  • I have an ongoing dispute with them. I only ever get a reply by email but I've sent registered letters to this address and know that they've been received.

Avoid them, it took my mum many hours on the phone just to get a UK charger not a EU one. Utter joke.

The clue to your problem is in 'ParcelForce WorlWide National Hub' - that'll be the PARCELFORCE hub in Coventry. Nothing to do with Pixmania (other than being where returned goods are received by Parcelforce before being returrned to France) , so not really any point in sending letters there...
