Paypal fees can be a real pain. I have stubbornly refused to "upgrade" to a fee-paying account, which would mean I would have to pay fees on all subsequent payments received, not just card-funded payments. However, that means I can't list Paypal as an accepted payment method, even though I can still take Paypal payments from Paypal balances and, in most cases, when paid from a bank account. I do send invoices as soon as possible after the end of my auctions, offering Paypal as an option if it is paid from a bank account or Paypal balance. Afaik that's allowed in invoices after the auction is finished, but not in the listing itself, though I can include the information as part of the description.
I do agree that the difference in Special Delivery prices for items slightly over or slightly under 2kg is ridiculous. I don't know why it doesn't go up in several more moderate increments like other postal services. If I did find a parcel to be sent SP was marginally over 2kg, I'd probably take it home and try to lighten the packaging a little. I was quite surprised when I put an empty shoebox on my kitchen scales and found it weighed about 200g!
As you've discovered freeonline, postal scales are not always completely accurate. Any slope on the underlying surface could affect the reading, and in one PO which I use, the scales are very close to the counter windows, and sometimes a big package will touch the window and register as slightly lighter than it really is.
I'm afraid I'm not sure how to access funds from your old Paypal a/c, but I expect someone here will be able to advise you.0 -
The only way you going to access the money in your paypal acoount is if you submit the details they require.0

Now i have real problem with Paypal. My old account is limited. They asked me for a series of steps to follow, a lot of info and personal data if i want to restore it and have access to it again which i refused.
I asked them to close it. I was told first i have to restore it then i can close it.
It is actually European money laundering regulations that require paypal to obtain more user information once a paypal account exceeds certain limits.
I had to do this for one of my paypal accounts earlier this year and it was really straightforward, the actual process that I had to do took me a couple of minutes no more (although there is a wait while paypal do their bit) Once everything checks out your paypal account is up and running properly again. If I found it simple to do then it must be.
There seems very little point in using paypal and just closing your account every time they want to verify you. Maybe you would want to consider not offering it as an option in future, it might limit your sales but you may feel more comfortable and if you dislike paypal that much is seems the logical thing to do.

Item has been delivered without problem.
My old Paypal account was limited because supposidly someone tried or accessed it from abroad.
Steps to lift the limitation are not the straightforward one that take a few minutes to complete.
Steps to Remove Limitations:
-Confirm your bank account (add B.Acc, set up bank funding(takes 3-5 working days), set up direct debit.....
- Enter Expanded Use Number (related to my Credit Card, another long proccess.
- Confirm Location
And now my account status is shown as:
This limitation cannot be appealed against.
I wanted to close it to transfeer my details to my new account.
Any way thank you all for your kind replies and advice.
I'll solve my problem with Paypal in one way or another.
