Year and a half and no, he's never said it. Surely it's high time. You should know by now. I'm ok. I've been thinking about this for months. I'm prepared for either outcome. If he only said now and again, I could live with that, but not the never saying it. :(

I don't think you are being unfair by expecting him to say I love you after a year and a half. What did he say when you put it to him? Some people are not very good at expressing their feelings. Hopefully he will open up to you more now you have spoken to him about it.

I think he finds it really difficult to express that emotion. Everytime, which hasn't been too often, I've said it, he just looks really awkward and embarrased. When I started talking about it last night, he just doesn't say anything and looks like he'd wish he could say it, but can't. He just won't say anything, which makes me want to just leave him, but I'm being patient and understanding (of what, I'm not quite sure of). I gave him time, because I knew he wouldn't say it last night.

I have approached the subject previously couple of times and the reception has been identical. I think he realises that this time there is no way out.

I think you are doing the right thing as it is lovely for someone to say they love you. It obviously bothers you but surely he owes you some response.Even if he tells you why he can't say it.

tirl sorry to hear about the situation with your bf. i agree that he should make some sort of commitment to you if he wants to stay with you. you're not a mind reader. some people do have problems expressing their emotions though. i hope that he can overcome that and say though elusive 3 words to you. fingers crossed for you

tirl (((hugs))) hun, you are going through the mill so hold on in there lady.

I have been vaguely motivated again today too, my POA looks like this for today and tomorrow:

    Wednesday
    1) [STRIKE]send the reply to bloke that I didn't do last night (but crossed off in anticipation)[/STRIKE]
    2) clear dining table
    3) [STRIKE]sort out drawers in bedside table[/STRIKE]
    4) kitchen and bathroom clean, clear and wiped down before bed (my variation on shining my sink)
    5) get clothes prepared for thursday
    6) [STRIKE]Take bag of stuff to charity shop[/STRIKE]

    Thursday
    1) Sort out drawers of tallboy
    2) [STRIKE]tidy utensil drawer in kitchen[/STRIKE]
    3) kitchen and bathroom clean, clear and wiped down before bed
    4) get clothes prepared for Friday
    5) give floors a quick sweep
    6) Pack for going away this weekend

Have started tomorrow's chores in a bid to avoid the dreaded dining table

That is a fantastic amount of money. You must be thrilled to have paid off so much and no doubt will be excited to see your hubby at the weekend!

yeah i am really pleased. of course it was only possible cos DH had that month's work. as much as i am pleased we've managed it this month i know we wouldn't be able to do it again unless DH gets a full time job but it has made great inroads to our debts. he was asked if he would stay for another month but he said no cos he really isn't enjoying being away from DD and me. tbh we're not enjoying it either but the money has really helped this month. we can manage without another month really.
