    I know, I can't wait

I just worked out my average monthly payment that i will have to make to hit April, nearly £1700

    Roll on May 2010...

Mine isn't much lower but I can only do it if OH gets a job after uni. The most I would be able to clear on my own would be about 7K.

If I can actually get a job I still want to hit April next year! It is doable if I get Tuesday's job - quite unlikely otherwise!

Good luck everyone else aiming for around then!

Thanks for asking! DD's birthday party was hard work. Worth paying off your debts just so you can afford parties a play areas instead of at home! I think she and her friends enjoyed it tho! Her actual birthday is one day in the week....

She's getting my old DS plus pink accessories and a few games - a lot of which has been paid for with amazon vouchers from bingoport! So reasonably MSE:money:I've got her a junior brain training game - and bless I think she is the sort to do it over and over again until she gets it right. I figure it will give me more peace on holiday and in the car etc if she has a DS

    Hope you are doing okay?

Sounds great. She will have good memories when she is older of her birthday parties.Mine were all held in my house and I have great memories of them!

I am grand. Getting motivated about paying the debts off now my OH is near the end of his uni course. Just want to get completely rid of them as I have been in debt for about 8 years (I think?) and it does impact on my emotional well-being, as it does for everyone else in debt as well I'm sure.

HI CMD I think you are doing amazing still clearing debt while OH is at uni - when my OH went back to uni that was our second trip into debt (we had a third after that)!!! On the straight and narrow now - hopefully for good.

I sooooooooooo want a job. Otherwise I am stuck paying about £205 a month towards debt max much slower than before!

PAID - the £1700 will be so worth it to be debt free!

Get SH and her halfway through the challenge ways :rotfl:

Hi SH  how are you hun?

I think I am going to have to start the free scratchcards and things to try and boost where I can. I did (finally) get my £90 from quidco for switching my mobile contract last November so that has boosted things a bit (or offset the cost of eating/drinking/staying in hotels).
£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

    Aw thanks SavingH,

It's funny but it took OH going to uni to make us realise how stupid we had been with money and it disgusts me to think of all the money we spent on rubbish.

You will get a job and when you do it will be the right one for you. At least you are continuing to be able to pay some money off the debts. It all counts in the end. I do hope you get something soon though.

Hi PAID - still waiting to hear whether I got the job I did the maths test and presentation etc for ! Just on tenterhooks - could be fab news or the worst news - I feel mega stressed about it - :o a job has rarely meant so much I can tell you!

It is good to have made so much progress while I was in work tho - it has literally been a "lifesaver" as otherwise there is no way we would be managing now we are down to one wage (and the leftovers from my bonus!). The £10 a day challenge has been a godsend. When I joined mse I was paying £54 on my home insurance - I now pay £17 - all those changes added together have made a huge difference to our budget etc!

Crack on with debt repayment while things are going well - and then if your circumstances change then you are in a much better position!
