    Hello all!

6 days till pay day... Can't wait as nothing's happening on the debt busting front atm. :( All the extra money I'm making is going to the student loan account which won't be transfered before end of this month, so can't update siggy on that before I know exactly how much I'm paying. Will be about £600 though so sig will look much healthier after that. Just difficult to keep track as don't get any statements and with the different currency and all.Still only paying interest off as well... :( Virgin cc is on course to be paid by end of August, before 0% finishes, but don't really feel I'm making any progress as can't pay things off, just have to wait and wait and wait...but I guess really, things are ticking off nicely.

hi CAFCgirl and others - have you all had a great weekend? We've been busy in the garden; dealing with a hospitalised MIL and reassuring a DS convinced he was about to be stolen - to spend much time on here !

One of our CCs 0% ends in May - but then it goes to 3.46% so we are going to leave it I think and prioritise the other card for overpayments - that 0% ends July. We have found out tho that we can transfer debt from card 2 to card 1 and keep the 3.46% - OH forgot to ask tho if there was a transfer fee. I have a card I could transfer some of it too at 0% for a 1.5% transfer fee - only for 6 months tho! That has cheered us up tho as we were quite worried about what would happen when they ended.

I had 3 interviews last week, didn't get the job I went for on Thursday but not heard back on the others yet. Really need to apply for some more jobs but decided to have a rest today and probably tomorrow and then worry about it. Hoping to help my sister in her garden tomorrow with the kids....

Hope everyone is doing well debt busting wise and you haven't fallen into too much temptation!:rotfl:

im planning a spending detox for myself when my holiday is finished, i need to get some perspective i think....

spending money is so easy but yet so empty, and i just need a jolly good kick up the backside to get myself together.... things are just bumbling along for us, everything is getting paid, but at no great rate, and I cant decide if we should be resigned to that or what?
I mean it'll get paid off eventually, about 4 of our debts are fixed term anyway, so we cant pay them off any quicker, so im ok with those getting paid as and when they do, but its the credit cards that are so darn pesky!

I think it is easy to get sucked into just bumbling along with debt... we have been like that most of our married life. IT'S TIME TO KICK THE HABIT and be serious about getting rid of it. We have kids, I am out of work and debt is a big pressure. If we weren't in debt even at the minimum repayments we would be £200 per month better off now which is close to the difference between being able to manage on OH's wage and not being able to....

Think if you want freedom of action in the future - part of that freedom comes from being money savvy now - pay off the debt spend later if you need to.... Someone I worked with had a whole year's savings - she was able to take a whole year out when she had a child - I had to go back after 4.5 months:eek: It is those little spends as well as the big ones that all add up and can sabotage our future if we let it. If you can pay off more - do it. Use the snowball calculator at the website whatsthecost to help you motivate yourself to bring your DFD forward. Good luck....
