We spent several days in the capital, Brussels, this summer and it was wonderful. Fantastic parks, all sorts of history and museums. We got to go to an outdoor film festival for free, even! Absolutely fabulous.

That also sounds interesting :) Now it will be the case of narrowing it down, and talking them over.

Sorry to BUMP up but what do you think of the Christmas markets? I went to one 10 years ago but I can't remember it.

  • if you're taking a car, then hit the autosnelweg (motorway) from calais and head for bruges - takes @ 1hr.

bruges xmas market starts 6 Dec. while not the best market, it's still worth a dabble - plus you get to see the best preserved medieval town in w.europe.

    gooie reis! ( a pleasant trip ).

I am not that fussed about going to Calais as I would rather go further inland or sail to a different port or something.

Looks like this is sooner than later...hmmm.., and it's NOT GOING to be a day trip :D It's longer, like 2 days which is unexpected

Thank you, I've discussed this more and going for a couple of days and taking a car :D I hope to go November now (why do I always gamble on the weather?)
