Warrantywise - Peugeot 407

• Hello I thought I'd throw in my experience of WarrantyWise - I spent £300 with a dealer for a 6 month warranty precisely because it looked like a good product and Quentin Wilson looked like a chap I could trust.

I was mistaken. If you're interested you can read about my woes here in the link in my profile . I think it's appalling that companies like this think they can just wriggle out of obligations using BS excuses. My experience with them leads me to advise anyone considering them to steer well clear. My prior concerns have been validated and they really aren't worth the paper they are printed on.

The plus side is I'll get my car back soon, albeit quite a few pounds lighter

£35 sounds a lot!

The ones I sell are about ten wuid a month for two years.

That covers most stuff.

As you're buying a French car it's well worth having the peace of mind of the warranty!

It's the AutoProtect crap you punt, right?

Sorry but that covers absolutely f:mad:k all - and their call centre staff are complete !!!!!!. Bunch of shysters.

Yes it is AutoProtect we use, but we only sell their gold plan, which is the higher end one. and due to our garage having a low claim value we can sell them for £180 or £240 for one or two years parts and labour cover.

Yes their cal l centre staff are appalling, but we always advise customers to contact US if there are problems with getting claims sorted as we will then go via our Rep and avoid the stoopid call centre.
• Ive been reading the forums about vehicle warranty*

Wear & Tear – No warranty company (no matter what they say) can afford to pay out lots of claims for worn out parts. They’d go bust by next Wednesday. Every opportunist would buy a worn out vehicle, spend a few hundred pounds on a warranty, and then get their car rebuilt at a cost of thousands to the warranty company. No warranty provider will pay you to rebuild your car if it’s just worn out. That would be commercial suicide! Before parting with your money or listening to the sales representative Read the Policy book, exclusions & small print.

"Wear & Tear" - Probably the greatest of the weasel words. Most warranties exclude breakdown due to wear & tear leaving the door wide open to decline any claim where a part has suffered a failure due to it being worn. Even those warranties that include it usually only allow full claims when your car is relatively new (when the cover is not needed) and then build in a sliding scale percentage excess, which costs you more as your mileage increases, which all means 'You Pay'. Wear & Tear parts should be picked out & repaired when servicing your vehicle.
