batteries always come in usefull around christmas time,i dont think they are the cheapest item.
  • Trinnylilac - the game play is good. Faster processer than PS2 although Xbox is faster again. It's also very compact. Gamecube doesn't play DVDs as it is designed purely as a gaming console but you can buy a dvd player for around £20 these days anyway.
There are more games available for PS2 and Xbox but I've usually found that most of the big releases that I've been interested in are on the cube too. In addition, there are excellent gamecube only releases - particularly "platformer" type games such as the Mario ones which are excellent (particularly for children but good fun for anyone who doesn't want to engage in mass slaughter every time they play a game).
You will need a memory card to save games (make sure that you have a memory card included or buy one separately too save game progress).

  • Thanks to Johntea and Sinar!

I got the Mario Soccer bundle with the two extras *plus* the £5 voucher because I was able to donate a penny! The cashier knew straight away (possibly from my cheeky grin) that I wasn't doing it because I'm just a charitable person! ;)

So, in my case the charity catalogue code worked (although it gave me a shock when it first went in the system at £9999! - I'm not kidding!)

Shame I didn't buy £50 in vouchers first of all (like someone has done for other Argos items)...

Yes I tried the 20p catalogue number on Ring And Reserve.

"Todays price for this item is £9999" :D

Going to try it in any Argos store which does not have the charity slips yet (Can't understand why they're still on the old slips...)
  • Thanks to OP.

Got GC Pak with 2 free accessories (and packet of batteries) today.
