opened letters through the mail

I got a small opened box today with a psp game in it. Could easily have been nicked if the postie had desired.

This does seem to happen a fair bit to numerous bits of post I get but certainly in my case at least, I'm, sure it's innocent. Our postie is a gem.

I know with the rounds here, the posties have half their mail left in a small box and when they empty their bag they go back and pick up the other half to deliver on the round. The box is smallish and metal and can be damp inside especially in bad weather. This can affect the post.

I agree that if anything untowards had happened then it's unlikely the letter would have been handed over like that. They would have covered their own back I would've thought.
