mister_p wrote:The BOGOF webcam is a Logitech Quickcam Communicate STX Plus, current Argos price is £49.99 for one. Comes complete with a stereo headset & mic. So 2 for £39.99 is a bargain. Collected my pair Thursday and also got a free 128MB USB flash drive, had to ask and show screen grab to get the flash drive though. I think the free flash drive was only valid on Thursday.
Still showing free USB Key on website as of 8.15 this morning - Friday! I've got my screen grab of this so PCWorld here I come.0 -
I've just collected mine.
I made a mistake with the checkout on mine. I reduced the ammount of items from 2 to 1, I thought I was reserving 4 webcams.
When I got to the store there was only 1 waiting for me.
Good job I had the screen print. they honoured the 2 for 1 deal.
Had to haggle for the memory stick. I explained that the screen print out stated 1 web cam + 1 free stick, BOGOF !! which means 2 cams and 2 sticks.
The manager agreed and honoured the deal. :j
Grinning like a cheshire cat at the checkouts I was. They nearly gave me the plus versions. They were changed at the last minute BOOOOOO! :snow_laug

Ivrytwr3 wrote:I pre ordered my 2 x webcams for store collection, but did not take the screen grab pic. So they initially would not give me the usb key. I told them to visit their own website and see, which they did.
They then read the terms which state free usb key with webcam, therefore i argued that just because the 2nd webcam is free i still should be entitled to 2 x free usb keys, 1 per webcam.
So i walked out of the store with 2 x webcams and 2 x 128 mb usb keys for £39; store personnel couldn't believe it and kept stating what a bargain that offer was!!!
Thanks to the original OP.
Got mine today also with the two 128 mb usb keys. I was told the usb offer was only valid yesterday, showed them the screen grab and pointed out the exact wording and after a brief "consultation" was handed four items no problem. Thanks to the original OP0 -

Thought I would buy several friends one of these and get most of my Christmas shopping done in one go, but;
-someone pushes in at the collection desk, and nothing was done (ok, I'll let that one go, the guy looked rough - the whole family did)
-I ordered 3, so should have got 6, but had to point that out as they were only going to give me 3.
-When I mentioned about the usb, they would only give me 1 USB in total after showing them the printout. They kept arguing that it was an offer for yesterday (well - why is the offer still on the site, which means it is available for today as well)
Surely if I ordered 1, and did it 3 times then I would then get 3 usb, but was told that he would not have allowed it. Even told me it was in the terms and conditions - which is not true, as I read it all before going there.
So, in the end, I left it all.

I ordered mine yesterday & collected them today taking the screen grab with me. A very nice SA asked when I'd ordered them because the till wouldn't accept the free usb key as the offer was for Thursday only. He tried several times until it went through so I didn't like to be cheeky & ask for 2!! Still pleased with my bargains as my children have been asking for a webcam for ages
Many thanks to OP0 -
Ordered & collected today. Site was still showing free memory stick this morning. Same as above, till not accepting free usb mem stick, but no problems after SA consulted manager 'cos web site still showing offer!!
Many thanks ChrisI'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0 -
The free USB memory stick has now finished. I ordered 2 webcams this morning. I went to Pc World at about 1pm. They would not accept the free USB stick. I kept getting messages back from the manager with different excuses. They checked the website and the USB stick offer had been deleted. After asking to see the manager he did promsie to reolve the problem. After exchanging my print outs for the website her gave me 1 USB stick as a managers special. He siad he was sending my printouts to HQ to tell them they shoudn't change deals during the day and casuing the problems of customers being unhappy. After being in the store for 45 minutes I had lost the will to live to argue for a second USB memory stick.. Overall great deal - I also bought HP No 56 black cartiridge - reduced from £17 to £9.28. I coudn't find them cheaper, evene refilled cartridges for this price.0
