New speakers not working ?

I have never had speakers before on my PC, I have just bought and plugged in.

I've turned volume up on PC and speakers but still no sound....

I am being thick ????? Is there something i'm missing ? :confused:

    Are you sure you plugged it into the correct socket? (usually marked green)
    If so then its probably the sound driver needs updating

    First check in Device Manager that your audio device is present and not showing any errors.

    Then open the volume control and check that none of the inputs is muted, and obviously that the output is not muted either.

    If you are using onboard sound and the speakers don't have their own built in amplifier, you may not get any sound as many onboard solutions don't have a built in amp.
  • Have plugged into correct light grn socket,

    Checked device manager, but can't see it listed....

    You'll have too bear with me, not the sharpest tool in the box as far as pc's go i'm afraid.

    It says Network drives none detected......:confused:

    Local drives volumes c: (NFTS on drive 0) 41.10gb 31.66gb free


    This means !!!!!! all to me, but might help....?

    Nope ;)

    In the bottom right of the screen, do you see a speaker icon? Will say 'Volume' when you hover the mouse over it.

    Right click, and press 'Adjust audio properties'. Click on 'Audio' and say what you see (in a Roy walker voice)

    Goto 'device manager' (Right click 'MY COMPUTER' and select 'properties'), find the SOUNDCARD and update the driver va the internet
