is anybody else freezing? i still have headache, which just got heaps worse because halifax phone help people are being annoying and wont discus anything with me until i go into a branch and prove my identity, which would be fine except i cant get tot he main branch and the local branch wont do it. its an online account therefore no statements, and if i cant access it how the heckkles am i sposed to know how much is in it exactly, and the exact date it was set up?

this is when i really wish there was someone else here to take care of everthing for me, someone with a decent memory lol

    Hi folks!

A rather sore Dragon today as the Furry Dragon has taken to biting my feet and ankles - in particular the right ankle which is the shattered one

Luckily he has calmed down a bit so I managed to get the stove top cleaned and the casserole in the oven - and that is me done for the day

Sorry, I know I keep blathering on about me, but am upset. I was offered a job the other day - on the application I ticked the box saying I was disabled, but not what with. Anyway, while I was talking to her, stupid stupid me mentioned I had chronic fatigue, which is why I couldn't have a full time job. (The job is three days a week.) In the interview I said I couldn't stand up long or carry heavy items, they said that was fine.

Now she's just phoned me saying I need to speak to their onsite doctor/OT, because they're not sure I can handle the job. Now she's suddenly mentioning things that weren't in the job description, like putting up posters all over campus, and things like that. The doctor now needs to see what he thinks.

Why bother having laws that they say can't ask about your disability on the application/interview, if they then just then dismiss you before you've even had a chance anyway!

Can they even do this? Obviously they thought I could do it before this came up - and actually my disabilities are much more than just fatigue, so if they get like this over ONE of the symptoms, seems like I'm screwed!

My current boss is lovely - she takes it all into account, and lets me swap my days all over the place for appointments. :( I'm not sure I would even want to work for people like this. They're a big university, so aren't just a small employer or anything.

  • sorry jaz that they are being like that, is there a dial in your area? have a look on the dial uk website, if there is not one affiliated (though sometimes called something else) then contact dial uk, they will know if the employer is allowed to do that etc. they may take a few days to get back to you though.

dragon good luck with teaching the furry one not to bite. hope the casserole was nice.
  • Jaz Nope :D I can't get on at a sensible hour at the mo. Winge away. Sorry to hear abt the job, sounds like you deserve a rant rather than a winge

paw enjoy your day with the family tomorrow

pcl we seem to be leading mirror lives  I have just opened a bank a/c (executor) and can't have internet access in case I money launder. Also need to visit another bank which is in the middle of a pedestrian presinct and just don't think I can walk that far. Like you, I'm on my own - but have 2 kidults who don't have a clue abt practical stuff and work f/t anyway. I do know the "buck stops here" feeling and sympathise with you.

Lady Anne seems to have settled reasonably well. We never see her using the cat flap but think she must be cos litter tray is seldom used now. We did have a major dust up last night, but I think that was prob mouse related :rotfl:
