    Hello Everyone

Lots of good meal ideas this week! This is what I have planned so far, we have succumbed to quite a few takeaways recently so I am trying really hard to be good.

    Sat: Chicken pie
Sun: Chicken jambalaya (thank you for the inspiration)
    Mon: Stuffed peppers
    Tues: Tomato pasta
    Wed: Freezer surprise

Fingers crossed I stick to my plan this week.

I missed the last week's thread, but it wasn't for lack of meal planning, just for lack of access time... This week I will be relying heavily on my freezer, as I'm working three evenings in a row, plus the weekend, which leaves me just about... erm, no time for cooking and preparation of food.

Anyway, enough waffle, here's the plan:

Friday - turkey chilli (freezer); HM naan (freezer ); southern fried quorn burger and beans for DD
Saturday - beef jalfrezi (freezer); HM naan (freezer); fried eggs and beans for DD
Sunday - toad in the hole (made with a veggie hot dog for DD), roasties and veg
Monday - pub meal out with friends
Tuesday - spaghetti bolognaise (freezer); spaghetti with veg for DD
Wednesday - saag chana dhal (freezer); HM naan (freezer)
    Thursday - shepherdess pie

    :iloveyou:

  • Hi everyone - don't know what happened last week but I couldn't find your thread! I was bereft! And I wanted to share my three week plan ;)!! Never mind, here we go for this week - we're away next Friday for half term so a short week for me - hurrah as I'll be catered for most of the week - a blissful break. Now the good news was that I got a 2kg chook from Iceland last week for £2.50 - but hte kids got a bit fed up with chicken meals especially as my firend also served chicken when we stayed last weekend  so this week we will have to finish up the leftovers from the freezer so:
Friday - sandwich meal - kids out at 5pm
Saturday - spag bol, garlic bread
Sunday - roast - depends on butcher
Monday - chicken sweet n sour and rice
    Tuesday - Sausage plait
Wednesday - rabbit casserole - new dish request by 11yo son!! Not sure iff DD will be ok with eating a bunny!!!
Thursday - Pasta Bake - bit radical in our house they don't really like messed up food so we'll see!

Have a good week - will post again after half term!:D
    Sealed Pot 617 - target £150 only managed £27 in 2009!

Just looking at my meal plans.
Is it just me or is anyone else finding that meal planning is saving sooooo much money and time ?
I often adjust my plan, and say 'no that can stay in the freezer cos tonight we can have leftover from the day before!'. If I follow a recipe that says 'for 4' I often half it, yet I am finding it feeds 2 (plus ickle DS) over 2 days- so still 4!!! I am not complaining about altering the plans- its great, just wondering why my food is seeming to stretch so much these days :). I throw very little away and love turing one meal into something else next time!
