Am on £35 12 month contract with O2 carphone warehouse. Would quite like a new phone as I am starting to have problems with my current one.
They have offered £25 pm for 200mins & 100 txts on 18 mth contract, and a Samsung Tocco. I dont think this is particularly great offer? What do you think. What could I push them for?

Doesn't sound particularly great, but if you're considering a £25 tariff, you're not going to get an expensive phone for free and a great contract.
Do you actually want a Tocco?
Is the amount of mins/texts they're offering enough?
You can get 200 mins/Unlimited Texts on Orange Dolphin £25 with a free Tocco with Mobile Express or Dial a Phone.
With mobiles.co.uk (which CPW now owns) you can get 200 mins/200 texts on O2 with a free Tocco plus 9 months 1/2 price or £1.99 for 5 months or £30 Auto Cashback.
If you've been talking to upgrades, I suggest you go through to retentions (customer loyalty), they should be able to offer you a better deal.0 -

Agreed, threaten to leave "Well I've seen this deal with XYZ, for X minutes and Y texts with this very nice handset, and I can only get the .......... with you, so I would like to leave please".
I usually have the relevant websites in front of me at the time......0 -
What is a reasonable demand?Doesn't sound particularly great, but if you're considering a £25 tariff, you're not going to get an expensive phone for free and a great contract.

Not necessarily a Tocco but have a G600 at the minute and dont want to downgrade

Yes this is enough.
You can get 200 mins/Unlimited Texts on Orange Dolphin £25 with a free Tocco with Mobile Express or Dial a Phone.
Cant get reception on Orange where I live

Will have a look at this

In my opinion it is reasonable for an existing customer to get what is offered to new customers. Hence, have a look at offers with other operators and quote one you like the look of to the person whom you are telling you would like to leave......0 -

I would say at least as good as a new customer deal if staying on the same or moving to a higher tariff , although this doesn't always happen as networks aren't quite as keen on retaining as they have been in the past.
In this case the OP is going down £10/month in their basic tariff. The £25/month is the only guaranteed income the network is going to get, so they base their calculations on this.0 -

You really need to decide what phone you do want and then go back to retentions armed with the best deal for them to match/better.
Probably best not to mention you can't get Orange reception at your house as this will strike out any Orange comparisons you can hit them with.0 -
Can get this phone
Samsung i8510 Clearance 8GB for 9.99 on £25pm for 200mins/200txts on O2.
Seems a really nice phone, and very new:
What do you think of clearance phones?
Thanks0 -

IMO, the Samsung i8510 is the best overall phone you can get at the moment.
You shouldn't have a problem with a clearance phone of this model, as it's so new. It's probably an ex-demo, or returned for a genuine reason.
That sounds like a reasonable deal considering CPW have this exclusively and it's only available on O2 and Orange at the moment.0 -
