    If the FSCS give us specific positive news today then I will be pleasantly surprised, but I am not counting on it. I am not sure a form is legally essential anyway, and if they send us into another weekend in a state of uncertainty and worry then I will be no longer wait for a form from the FSCS but submit my own detailed claim to their head office by recorded delivery as a starting point for going on the offensive. From Monday we should also consider staging a media event to keep this matter in the news - the government may be less likely to stall us if there are detailed stories in the press about how seriously this is affecting people.

    I am owed £35K, an inheritance from my father. Being disabled I have no means of replacing the c £200 pm interest that I have lost and which was keeping me afloat. There must be people in even worse circumstances than me. Unless we get some serious action soon Darling will need to be clearly reminded of his promise and that we are going to be continuously present in the media, reminding everyone not to feel too secure just yet.

    yes and again where is Martin to help us with this

    And what precisely is it you expect Martin to actually do???? :rolleyes:

    I'm getting sick and tired of these witch-hunt type posts against him and people trying to blame him for all this :mad:

    It's hardly Martin's responsibility or fault. It's our own fault for being (in retrospect) stupid.

    But did the FSA know nothing, right up to the Icesave collapse? Were they just as ignorant and understaffed as me? Something smells.

    I am not and never have blamed Martin and in fact last week I condem all those who blamed Martin.

    all I am asking for is -should we require it pending the next FSCS update that we need Martins help and skills a journalist and his media contacts to help us icesavers

    You have my full sympathy, the situation is disgraceful. As an investor you've done absolutely nothing wrong, you've kept below the compensation limit, yet you've been severely punished by this fiasco of a system and the tardy way in which it is being handled. I bet there there are hundreds maybe thousands of other Iceave depositors who for various reasons are in the same position of having to endure extreme financial hardship. Funny when I watch TV or read the papers there's no mention of the likes of you it's just about people who should count themselves lucky to be in a position to save in the first place! For your sake I hope our elected representatives get their fingers out and give you the help you deserve.

    The FSCS terms for payments aim to be up to 6 months to be paid out from a collapse (but in more complex cases longer), so I don't think anyone is being "severely punished". Their T+Cs have been widely available.

    It's a mess, but we've been given a guarantee that is much better than the original FSCS 50K limit, so we just have to wait. I know for some it's really impacting on their lives.

    And I'm sure that once Martin has obtained any further FACTS on the situation he will update this page which he has been doing ever since all this started so as to keep us all informed.

    FSA :rotfl::rotfl:

    Look at how well they dealt with Northern Crock. No minutes at meetings, in some cases a phone call to ask if everything was ok was deemed acceptable

    The idiot who put them in charge should be err I was going to say shot but that's likely to come under one of the many terrorism acts. So I will say sent on a long holiday.

    There is nothing stupid about it we put money in a seemingly safe bank
    they were promoted as being covered by the FSCS and for any average person that made them safe, well as safe as anywhere else. They were even selling ISA as defined by the govenment.
