Hi, I'm looking to buy this software for the Mac - Adobe CS3 Design Premium...but it's sooooo expensive! Even with the discount store it comes in at £949. Any idea of where I can buy cheaper? Or is it a case of shut up and just buy it?
Any help would be appreciated.

Any chance of you getting a student copy?
Do you really need all the packages?
Plus CS4 comes out on the 30th!0 -
Sadly we can't get the student copy. Unless I register my 5 year old niece as needing the software for primary school? Perhaps not a good idea!
I'll take a look at CS4. I really need it before next week if possible.
If only I were still a student....sighs.Are we still waiting to sing as hummingbirds?0 -
If your niece is a full time school student (which I think they are at 5?) then get it from here for £255.99

I got a student copy of CS3 Design Standard and successfully registered it in my five year old son's name...0

CS4 started shipping yesterday, so why buy old software even at the expensive price?0

Have you got any previous versions which enable you to qualify for the upgrade?0

And what are the valid upgrade products could you buy one of these so that you can then buy the upgrade?0

Cheaper than buying the full version:
Photoshop CS, CS2, CS3 or CS4, Photoshop Extended CS3 or CS4, InDesign CS, CS2, CS3 or CS4, Illustrator CS, CS2, CS3 or CS4, Flash Pro MX 2004, 8, CS3 or CS4, Dreamweaver MX 2004, 8, CS3, CS4, Creative Suite Premium or Standard 1.x, 2.x, Studio MX 2004 or Studio 8, Design Bundle (Creative Suite 2 Premium plus Flash Professional 8) or Web Bundle (Creative Suite 2 Premium plus Studio 8)
Cheapest route:
Creative Suite 3 Design Premium, Design Standard, Web Premium, Web Standard, Production Premium or Master Collection0 -
CS3 valid products to upgrade from are much stricter than CS2 was, it has to be a member of the previous CS2 suite or I think CS1 (but I can't remember the details, somewhere on an archive at Adobe.com no doubt).
CS2 upgrades were much more flexible allow upgrades from ancient versions of Photoshop v4 onwards I think - but when Adobe moved to CS3 it forced people to upgrade more regularly.0 -
Wasn't the full version of Design Premium CS3 £1200 or £1500? With upgrades from CS2 to CS3 about £800 or £900? We have a bunch in our office, I'll have to dig out the receipts.
Cheapest method is to fly to Boston, buy it in dollars and fly back - Boston because they don't have a purchase tax
Sadly we paid full whack for all our versions from Jigsaw.0
