I speak for myself .. .. others may disagree, others may feel the same but say nothing, I choose to speak out !
heater, you have chosen to indiscriminately splatter your post across all threads, dredging up non-live ones in the process making the reading of the group a frustrating chore.
Your intention was good, your method is bad, start your own new thread header in the proper acceptable manner and give those of us here a choice [ which you have now denied the group ] to tag and follow the threads I / we choose rather than you deciding for us myself what we I read - that style of gerrymandering the threads for your own purpose takes away my right to choose what I read and what I don't.
An absolutely a pointless waste of the worlds alphabet and my time having to re-read the same same in all threads posted .. .. each new live thread is the heater junk. This time I have clicked the spam button and encourage others to do so, there is no justification whatsoever with this hijacking and destruction of other peoples threads.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. I have undergone tibiotalocalcaneal fusion in my left ankle on February 21st, following a serious RTA 26 months ago.
I am led to believe that my ankle flexibility will be severely reduced and, as well as leg length discrepancy, I will have to wear some kind of rocker bottom sole shoes.
Does anyone have any experience, direct or indirect, on this type of condition?0 -
https://www.cafamily.org.uk is a useful site for families with disabled children:)0

I welcome your post, but please use the etiquette when posting by not using capitals. On forums it is shouting and a tad rude. You may not know it, so I am just advising you.
Some of those petitions are just purely daft! How on earth does anyone think of believe any petition will get the Prime Minister and Chancelor to resign, let alone petitioning Amnesty International. I think the latter have a lot to think about elsewhere in the world.
Keep up the good work, but take my point about shouting please.0 -
I cannot see Yourable...
Just put in yourable and it will come up good site for help with disabled people.0 -
Are people still adding forums to this list?
Just discovered that I can't put links in because this is my first post. So I've replaced them with what to put in your search engine.
the DPN forum (Disabled Parents' Network) has a lot of areas and has been a lot of help to me
... since when you google "disabled parent" you tend to get loads of stuff for parents of disabled children, but almost no advice for disabled parents of able-bodied children (and Social Services OFTEN give false informatino on rights, entitlements etc). In fact it was on this forum that I first found out Direct Payments existed - 3 years after I could have got them!
It is really not obvious how to get at the DPN forum from the main website - in fact it's not obvious they even have a forum - I think I had to find out through their contact page... worth the trouble though, once you find it.
And also: the Brain and Spine Foundation which has a "forum" link at the top; I haven't personally been active on this one but looks good.0 -
Came across this when browsing google.
A fantastic list.
Another to mention is
parentsofdisabledchildren .co.uk
One post only Lucyg1986
If anyone is are thinking of using that " forum" please read
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4871045
It's owned by a retailer of https://www.cheapdisabilityaids.co.uk who have poor customer service.
You might also want to consider this poster has the same first name as the retailers company secretary.also the same first letter of their sirname.
See also the person named here in relation to the cheque0
