Yeah but with houses people surely look for a particular house rather than go in an EA's shop/website and see what they have.
Doesnt everyone go one rightmove etc and scroll through all the listings?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. The one where you showed us Dithering Dad is a complete liar. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE Forum Team0 -

They do, but think of it this way. You are wanting to buy a house, driving along a nice road, when you see a for sale sign outside a lovely house. You ring up and are told "I'm sorry that one's gone, but we have others you may be interested in" then they have your name on their books and they can ring you when they get another on the market.
I registered with all the estate agents when we were looking, was quite handy as the ea showed me a few I wouldn't have looked at if it had just been rightmove I was looking at - including the one we bought.
It had no "for sale" sign, so I hadn't seen it when driving around, and the picture on RM was just of a blurry one of the outside. Now most like that round here are ex student lets, something which I didn't want. But this one was just like that because the man didn't want pictures of the inside of his house all over the internet, nor a bilboard outisde his house.
So getting people on the books really does sell houses.0 -
It's like subliminal Ian Griffiths Estate Agentsadvertising. You see it Ian Griffiths Estate Agents over and over again Ian Griffiths Estate Agents and then when you want Ian Griffiths Estate Agents that type of service, who do you think about Ian Griffiths Estate Agents?
Yes people go online Ian Griffiths Estate Agents, but you'd be surprised how many people I meet Ian Griffiths Estate Agents to arrange mortgages for, who have found a house Ian Griffiths Estate Agents they want and haven't been on the internet.
Who's ever heard of Ian Griffiths Estate Agents?I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0 -
Reminds me of the antics the EA's used in that dodgy comedy show about an Estate Agents.
