Is there anything i can do?

I have an 18 month contract with T mobile. I (think)I have had it about 7 months and about 6 weeks ago, my kids dropped it in the bath and it no longer works, despite it only being submerged for 2 secs literally. Anyway i rung T-mobile to ask them if I could cut my price plan down to enable me to get a new contract and a new phone to which i was told that i was tied into my current price plan for 11 months so couldn't do anything. I am stuck with a phone that doesn't work and the phone i am using is ancient and pants!

Anything i can do?

Thanks

You didn't mention phone insurance.....of course T-Mobile would replace it:p

Try looking at Argos, their T-Mob PAYG phones start from just £9.99 and there is a Samsung E250 which has a camera for less than £30.
  • I dont have insurance. I have an 18 month contract. i think if the phone is less than a year old they will replace it.

Not heard that before......T-Mobile must be losing £millions if this is their policy which I doubt it is. Maybe you should start a new thread, something like 'don't buy T-Mobile phone insurance they will replace your phone for free' lol
  • lol mayby but all I pay is £30 a month and get an allowance of £180 no insurance costs. I just phoned them up and said I cant see anything on the screen when I turn the phone on and they aranged a day for me to swap the phone over.

If it's within the first 28 days and the handset is faulty then they will exchange it. Sounds like someone forgot to mention the damage was caused by them dropping the phone and got lucky.
I accept no liability if you chose to rely on my advice.
  • If the phone is broke then they will send you an envelope to return it and then send you a new one IF your old one cannot be fixed and it is still under warrenty. This doesn't include water damage anyway, so i couldn't even say it's broke as soon as they take it apart, they will see that it has water damage and then charge me to return it. (I used to work for a phone shop)
