Well, we are going through application to rent another house, and if we are successful, we will need to change our bed frame. So, any shops in North West closing down?

    Edit:
    Found this on Hotdeals:
If anyone could add others, would be great!

Warrington is closing. Big signs up all over it. Tho to be honest that place always looked closed anyway...

  • went to MFI yesterday 27 Nov but they said they are not selling anything till staurday!

don't know if this is true or not cos I saw stuff that had "sold" stickers on it!
I guess they're already selling display stock to staff!

When I went to the shop in Kidderminster, I was pretty shocked by the prices to be honest. I could have haggled a full price brand new kitchen down past the price they were asking for their display kitchens.

You could also buy appliances brand new online for less than they were asking for theirs reduced and sometimes damaged.

If they do shut yet more shops, then take the 'bargains' with a pinch of salt and keep researching.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • Totally agree with you Doozergirl. I want into MFI this morning and the reduced price for most of the kitchen sets (excluding appliances) was around £5,000 although prices ranged from £2,000 to £10,000. Prices were advertised as 80% off.

Now you could always get 60% off at MFI so that kitchen with a £20,000 catalogue price would have been £8,000 so you can now pick it up for £4,000. Therefore the saving by buying an ex-display set is 50%.

Before anyone takes the plunge, consider that you will basically have to fit the MFI display into your own home. Think how you are going to collect the kitchen and install it in your house. That nice granite worktop that looked so good in the showroom will be VERY heavy and you will not be able to cut it without serious cutting gear. Remember that as MFI is in administration, you will not be able to get any spare cabinets, doors, plinth, cornice or pelmet from MFI.

My advice would be to stay clear until really silly prices start appearing in MFI showrooms. Go to another supplier and get a quote for your kitchen and then you can use this as a benchmark against the prices at MFI.
