  • Oh Dear, Car Dealers - there in a league of their own.

    The S**T League.

Had trouble with carnation many moons ago, They wouldn't give me a refund on a dep.

So, I subbed a local 'Hardman' a 20 to Go and 'Knock the C**t out'

He didn't have to use his renowned violence - They handed the money back no trouble.

What complete and utter drivel:rolleyes: Real hard bloke if he does it for twenty quid:rolleyes:

Well...the salesman said we could have our deposit back but then the MD called and said they're looking for the service history. They said if they don't find it they will service it and give us 2 years warranty with them. I dunno if I trust them though. I don't want to be messed around for the next 2 years and end up with faults unresloved.

I would insist on your original agreement or money back, when the time comes to sell, you will not have a full service history, your vehicle will be worth less money.

The " 2 years warranty " is probably worthless anyway.

If they give you a 2 year warranty it could be invalidated without a FSH.

I've never had problems getting refunds on deposits when we've changed our mind. Most "good/decent" dealers will have no qualms in refunding whatsoever. A lot of dealers are rated on bonuses for customer service and an unhappy customer will drag their percentages down.

If you don't trust them then walk away. If they are insistent then ask for a personal guarantee from the MD.:D Tell him to write his name and address down and that you want £5k back if there is no SH. He won't want to do that!

I had a look at their 2 year warranty yesterday. As long as the car is fully serviced AFTER i purchase it it is valid, however, I've lost a bit of faith in them and would rather everything be straight forward so we bought a slightly newer one and upgraded model from a Fiat Main dealer instead. Evans did refund my deposit. Woohoo!!
