    Its sad that its taken an accident for the council to help you with your lighting.
    As per above advice - stay out of it now, if he sues its not your problem and you might get drawn in if you keep up contact.

    Post back if anything comes of this.

    i was meant to get a follow call by the council yesterday - no call!!! will wait and see if they call today then....

    At least now though you have some leverage!

    If you do have to chase it up be share to remind them that they already have someone trying to claim off them due the lack of lighting, maybe they'd like to save themselves from further hassles and potential financial losses...!!

    The dangers also face you, the council's tenant(s), and if it not resolved then you could be the next victim of injury...

    try and put all your requests to the Council in writing or if you visit their office ask them for a receipt of your complaint or request.
    Nobody can then deny that you have contacted them.
