Great spot! Discount supermarket Farmfoods is currently selling 2 litre bottles of whole and semi skimmed milk for £1. If you don't know where your nearest store is then enter your postcode into the Farmfoods store finder and it'll give you the address and a map.

Alternatively if you're a Cravendale junkie then Sainsburys has its 4 pint bottles (whole, semi and semi-skimmed) on offer. They are normally £1.56 each, but buy two and you get 82p off, making it £1.15 per 4 pint bottle (£2.30 in total).

Plus, don't forget there's a coupon available to pick up a free litre of Candia long life milk from Sainsburys or Somerfield. For more info read the in the Supermarket Coupons Deals note.

Actually Farm Food is doing 2ltr bottles for £1 which is not actually 4pts. If you look at bottles at other supermarkets you will find they have more in them. Not being a smart !!!!, just that I fell for it too!!
    Keep on trucking!

Liddl has a similar offer: two 4-pint bottles of normal or semi-skimmed milk for 2 quid. (Yes, they are 4-pint bottles, not 2-litre ones.)

For everyone's information, 4 pints = 2.272 litres. 2 litres = 3.521 pints. So the cheapest is Sainsbury's 1% - but there are usually not many on the shelf, and then Liddl if you buy 2 bottles before Farmfoods.

Iceland used to sell them at £1 for 4 pints but it has now gone up 3 times since to £1.25 though occasionally they have the same 2 bottles for £2 offer.
  • The Co-op quite regularly sell the 1% milk at 99p. As you might expect the shelf is usually bare but I have managed to get quite a few over the months.

The Cravendale milk is only 2 litres NOT 4 pints.

Best offer is definitely Sainsburys 1% fat milk which is £1 for 4 pints. Personally I couldn't bear skimmed milk on cereal but the 1% milk doesn't taste any different to semi-skimmed (2% fat) milk.

Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.
  • Agree with those saying that 2 litres is less than 4 pints.
