Help Please re PC running v v v v slow.

Could anyone please help - my PC is running very very slow and I am only keeping one page open at a time - we have had broadband installed but i still cant tell the difference - the 2 green arrows on the bottom tool bar show Tx288 Rx2272. Any tips to speed pc up would be greatly received.

Have you checked for spyware and viruses? Deleted your internet cache? Defragmented your disk?

I have done Spyware check and virus check - dont know what OS is, sorry!! Do I need to delete cookies - if so how do I do this - sorry for bothering you but im new to this.0

I ran the cc cleaner in an attempt to speed up my pc as mentioned a few times on here. now when i turn it on or start some programmes it says ........
preparing to install ......... 'norton 2005 does not support the repair feature, please uninstall and re-install ' the box comes up a few times and i just click through it, however have i done something wrong ?0 -

I think it might be Norton which must be causing the problem. Norton is very hungry on resources. You could try uninstalling norton and see if that helps.0
