BACS Transfers INTO Icesave

  • I'm in the same boat. I have £600 that has disapeared. I contacted lloyds on the 7th and was told there was nothing that they could do, but they expected the money to bounce back to my account within two working days. When it did not appear they then told me that it would be back in my account within 8 working days of the transaction. After 8 working days they said they would put a trace on the money, but that it could take up to 31 Days to complete. They have told me they will get the money back, and I do have the date and time that statemnt was made and as it was recorded we shall see what happens.

I can't help but feel that Lloyds (as are most banks) are taking the mickey in this day and age where it takes them 8 days to complete a computer transaction, and 30 days to do a computer search.
    something missing

I've just had the result of the trace, over two weeks later! It's sitting in the Barclays Correspondent Bank sort code 20-32-53, which is where I made the payment to but obviously it has not bounced back to my bank or processed into my Icesave saving account.

Why don't Barclays just return the money!!!!

Well to answer my own question, I've just called Icesave and that money will only be processed INTO the Icesave account (not returned to the originating account) after the Barclay's holding account has been unfrozen, sometime within the next few weeks.
  • Hi _ I'm in a similar situation but thankfully not for a lot of money. The payment went out on 1st Oct and was processed but not cleared. Phone Icesave and they told me the same thing that it will clear once they can unfreeze the accounts. Anothjer waiting game I suppose just hope it all clears before we put our claims in for compensation
  • Hi all - glad to have read this - just realised I am in the same situation £250 regular monthly payment - 7th October- processed but not cleared so I will join this 'new' elite icesavers group.

Me too £100 processed but not cleared on 7th Oct. However on checking my linked account the £100 hasn't been taken from there. All future transfer are showing status rejected, probably because I cancelled my DD

    Loosely related...
I just spoke to IceSave to ask about the ISA balance I transfered to them over a month ago but which seemingly never arrived. Thankfully they confirmed that they do have the money in their internal systems even though it's not showing in my account via website.
